Once again the experts blew it. In part surely because of the silent Trump voter the polls don’t capture. But perhaps more because the Republicans adopted Dem ground tactics….particularly early voting.
If you leave a much larger portion of your vote to Election Day, there have to be a some potential voters who have issues on the day and simply don’t show up. It’s much easier to mail in the vote….what percentage is that 1%, 2%?
The cool thing is this is permanent. It’s a technical adjustment that will only be pursued more avidly in future elections.
Trump’s last Presidency was sabotaged, the real threat to Democracy, let’s hope he doesn’t sabotage himself this time. The opportunities the Dems left on the table are vast. Just the ludicrous anti merger stuff was chilling natural economic activity.
The futures markets are soaring and the energy on CNBC is in stark contrast with the funereal atmosphere on CNN. The country looks energized. And I don’t think that ends at the border. The next 6 months are going to be fascinating.
