Ukraine and the United States reached an agreement over access to Kyiv’s deposits of rare earth minerals, according to media reports, as Kyiv seeks to reinforce its ties with its key wartime transatlantic ally under the Trump administration.

The draft deal envisages that the two countries will jointly develop Ukraine’s mineral resources, including oil and gas, and sees the U.S. drop demands for a right to $500 billion in potential revenue from the agreement, according to the Financial Times, which first reported the deal on Tuesday.

U.S. President Donald Trump appeared to confirm progress regarding the deal, which has yet to be inked.

“I hear that [there is a deal], I hear that [Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy]’s coming on Friday,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office on Tuesday.

“It’s certainly ok with me if he’d like to, and he would like to sign it together with me. And I understand that’s a big deal, a very big deal,” he added. “It’s rare earths, and other things,” Trump said, without giving further details.

Trump said the agreement offered Kyiv billions of dollars in aid and “lots of equipment and military equipment and the right to fight on, and originally, the right to fight.”

hTis deal was taken to Kieve by Bessent and was totally misrepresented in the media as part of the peace negotiations with Russia - it never was. And it as not intended for the USA to get money from Ukraine - it was aimed at reconstruction of Ukraine after the war ended - its main aim wa to ensure that miniral usage help the Ukraine people and prevent using the income for corrupion.

However, the site idealogues coupled the deal to Trump being corrupt and wanting him to enrich himself and his partners - which was what the fake media wanted them to believe. They were too stupid to see hte issue differently and designed to help the Ukrainians in future,

The deal has an additional benefit for Ukraine as well. Much of he minerals and oil depositis is in Easerm Ukraine and at present under Russian army control. That means that the areas invovled would have to remain part of Ukraine for the deal to work and it is apparent that is the pproach as to the present peace engtiations as well, Ukraine would have to get the eas occupied ny Russian troops back as part of Ukraine. However, Ukraine will never get the Crimea back - but it is likely that for the most part Ukrane will get most terriroties at present cocupied by Russian troops back to remin part of Ukraine.

However, there are two issue that is going to cause premium requirements in the peace negotiations and that is Ukraine becoming a member of NATO and getting a new dempocratic Constitution based onm the USA sysem of federlism that are going to be major issues in any peace deal.

It sounds positive. I see no issue with Ukraine paying for ongoing weapons and military support. WW2 debts of Europe took many years to pay back to the US.
