It is no surprise that he is religious. God works in mysterious ways after all, and anti-vaxxers may be going to heaven sooner than later.  (If Heaven actually exists...)

People need to accept that religion is just as belief. 
Believing in Santa Claus is not going to make something "more" real... Just like non-religious people have beliefs, which are not accepted facts.   

Scientific data however is a fact. Follow the data, not beliefs.
For example, the risk of the vaccine is minuscule compared to the risk of the disease itself.

There were also more than 18 000 Covid deaths in the USA in May alone due to Covid-19 complications... and of those, about 150 were fully vaccinated people, which is 0.8%
