Arguably the best Beatle song not written by Lennon/McCartney

Come on Denny. Do you really place this above While my Guitar Gently Weeps? A song covered by so many greats, including Eric Clapton? Or did you simply not know that George was responsible for the song?

One of my favourite covers of the song with a brilliant solo by Prince, one of the most underrated guitarists/singers:

Without a doubt an excellent song created by the immortal George Harrison. I would probably lose if it came to a vote but lets not go there lol......but just before you go  pushing out your chest.....see the header?....I covered my ass with "Arguably"...taste in music is and will always be relative.

I'm not going to raise the white flag but what I will do is to keep it friendly an offer you a draw LOL

Of course you would have “covered your ass”. I still think my offer of “While my guitar gently wheeps” is better than “Here comes the sun”, but that is my opinion. 

Having said that, it is true that it is almost widely accepted that Beatles songs are mostly Lennon–McCartney creations and very few credit the other two for their song writing abilities. Truth is that both Ringo and George write some great songs during the Beatles era and thereafter. 

George was also the brainchild behind the Travelling Wilburys. 

Another interesting fact is that the Beatles did not stop working together after the split. All of them played various parts on producing Ringo’s “Ringo” album. In fact he and George co-wrote the hit song “Photograph” from the album. 

If you could get a clearer picture of that album sleeve, you’ll find all of the other Beatles in the crowd. I have the album still with some other stuff of ours in SA.

George was an outstanding song writer and musician. One of a kind.

Agree. And highly underrated.
