The increasingly violent and out of control Left in this country is no better than fanatical Muslims, and now has the same objective, to purge History of what went before, and to make us believe that their brand of History is correct and, in fact, is the only History.
We now living know better.
But the Left now controls Education, and if the Left has it’s way, future generations will have much less certain knowledge of all of our history, the people who populated it, and their words, deeds, and accomplishments, for good or for ill.
Muslim doctrine is that all the prior history and accomplishments of any country or civilization before Islam is based on Jahiliyya i.e. on "ignorance," and that any physical embodiment of that ignorance deserves to be, and must be destroyed.
In ancient times the Buddhist monuments and pilgrimage sites along the Silk Road in Central Asia were mostly destroyed by Islam and Musllms. Just a few years ago the ancient 1,500 year old Buddhas of Bamiyan in Afghanistan were blown up by the Taliban. In Syria, Isis has blown up the remnants of the Temple of Baal in the two thousand year old city of Palmyra. In Iraq, Muslims have taken pick axes and sledgehammers to the exhibits in Mosul's archeological museum. Material from the first ancient cities of the world, Ninevah and Nimrod, and the contents of various Middle Eastern archeological museums have been looted and destroyed by Muslims, and various other Christian and Musllm historical sites have been dynamited.
Our very young American civilization does not have any such ancient relics or cities, but the hundred or two hundred year old statues we have are our equivalents.
How are the aims of the Left, and their destruction and defacing of the embodiments of our history and heritage any different from what Muslim fanatics have been doing?
