Realizing that reliance on the USA to defend Australia the Australian  Government decided to build 8 nuclear-powered submarinse aimed primarily for use in the southern pacific area.    The submarines will not carry nuclear arms - but will be better than other similar vessels since it can stay under water for much longer periods at a time.

The Aussie Government has negotiated with the USA Government to get the designs of such submarines from the USA - the negotiations lasted for more than 18 months and was probably have been finalized before China Joe Talibiden assumed the Presidency - the latter would not give permission  because it would displease China.    The submarines will be built in collaboration with France

Be it as ot may  Australia would need much more than 8 submarines to deter a  Chinee attack and they will need help from other countries since the US would under the present administration would really not help the Aussies.

Yesterday there was a tele-conference on TV between Talibiden, Boris Johnson and Scott Morrison.   It was on TV and the embarrassing part was Bien forgot the name of the Aussie Premier  and tried to find it on papers in front of him before the public television link was cut.    Proof again that  somebody is running the USA Government and that somebody is not Talibiden.         .

Wrong again. Stop acting like a world authority.

There will be a major increase in the US military presence in Australia, Defence Minister Peter Dutton has confirmed.

Mr Dutton told Today the move was designed to make Australia safer and provide stability in the Indo Pacific region.

"It is all about keeping Australia safe, and our Indo-Pacific is a very uncertain place. No doubt about that," Mr Dutton said.

Thousands of US land forces already rotate through the Northern Territory for training but Mr Dutton flagged an increase in US air and naval assets here.

"There is more that we can do, in the maritime space, in the air space, and there is also a big opportunity there for Australian industry ... the sustainment of all of that, you know, personnel, and the equipment that they bring with them."

Mr Dutton also says US military forces could be based in southern Australian states.

"The United States is talking about bringing through all sorts of planes, Bombers and different surveillance planes ... sustaining them through Richmond or Amberley (RAAF bases), different airports ... there is a big opportunity."

Earlier today, Mr Dutton and Foreign Minister Marise Payne held talks with their American counterparts in Washington.

They were held just hours after Australia joined a new defence pact with the US and the UK, an agreement that will see Australia acquire nuclear-powered submarines.

Mr Dutton said the new submarine fleet will give Australia superiority in the Indo Pacific.

"The beauty about this sub is that for about 35 years, for the life of it, you don't have to change the reactor. Many others need to be refuelled," Mr Dutton said.

"But it will be some years off, and it is a huge investment, but it will give us superiority in the region, and that's what we need to maintain."

Fine Denny7

I have no problem with the idea, but the contempt Biden showed when he did not know the name of the Aussie Prime Minster during the televised discussions is typical.   He would have forgotten about the discussions in half an hour after that - and that shows he is a total liability when it comes to anything involving US Allies.   All Morrison did was to smile in disbelieve - as he was described as "the chap down under" by Biden.   .

Have you learned nothing from the Afghanistan betrayal of the US NATO Allies and the liaison between General Milley and his  Chinese counterpart.    The fact is even  in the event  of an attack by China on Australia - the US will have an order not to fight back from the pro-Chinese faction in the USA and will not react at all and US forces will be withdrawn from Australia.    You will be well-advised to see what happens in the event  of a Chinese attack on Taiwan.    Remember there was an agreement with the Taliban - supported by the NATO allies  - on withdrawal of NATO forces from Afghanistan and that agreement was sabotaged by Biden and a motion of contempt of him was passed unanimously by the UK Parliament.   It could happen to Australia as well.

My statement remains - Australia better find allies other than the USA otherwise in the longer run the country is doomed.   .   .   .

If the West gives up on Australia we are all Communists….Taiwan is the Chinese priority, which if it happens will change attitudes and build resolve.

My problem is that who is actually running the USA - it is clear that Biden is a front used by a kind of Poliburo who actually take the decisions as to what is to be done and Biden thaen sign everything put before him to sign.

That Politburo is a problem  and a major one at that.   Decisions they have taken and are being  taken are  totally illogical and a mess - everything they touch is a disaster and leads to chaos.    In any event the NATO Allies was left in the lurch in Afghanistan and if Taiwan is conquered who will be next  on the list of China - with them taking occupation of Bagram the next one could be the uneasy relationship between India and China through an alliance with Pakistan, but China would be more interested   in the mineral resources and  relatively low population density of Australia and the destruction of the competitive industrial capacity of South Korea.

For myself I have no trust in the present USA regime  and  that is the crux of the matter.
