South Africa has dismissed allegations its white farmers are "persecuted" after an Australian minister said they needed help from a "civilised" country. Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton said he was exploring giving South Africa's white farmers access to fast-track visas on humanitarian grounds. The suggestion was made amid calls to transfer land ownership from white to black farmers in South Africa, and fears over the number of farm killings. But South Africa says it is ridiculous. Government spokesman Ndivhuwo Mabaya told the BBC there was no reason for any country in the world to suspect a section of the South African population was in danger from its democratically elected leaders. "There's no need for anyone to be scared or to fear anything," he said. "The land redistribution programme will be done according to the law. We want to say to our friends across the world that there's no need to panic." He concluded: "We remain a united nation here in South Africa - both black and white." "If you look at the footage and read the stories, you hear the accounts, it's a horrific circumstance they face," he said. Mr Dutton added: "We want people who want to come here, abide by our laws, integrate into our society, work hard, not lead a life on welfare. And I think these people deserve special attention and we're certainly applying that special attention now." In response, South Africa's foreign ministry said it regretted "the Australian government chose not to use the available diplomatic channels available for them to raise concerns or to seek clarification". Australia did not admit liability in the case but rights groups have repeatedly criticised the country for its human rights violations on offshore detention centres.

We are grateful to Mr Dutton...at least it's good to know there are understanding leaders of influence in Australia...while the rest of the world turns a blind eye and our government continues to lie and falsify statistics and does nothing to address this effectively.

Mozart thanks for this...it's time that these matters are exposed to others to city folk in particular who don't have a clue...even in their own country let alone the rest of the world.

Here's a clip that might high light some of the drama and seriousness of this terrible dilemma

I watched that clip....very moving. Can decent people of all races prevail in the face of indifference and antagonism. How can the murder of a young white man who runs a petting zoo be equated with a white backlash. The ruling party doesn't have to show anybody who 'owns South Africa'....that false narrative is just an excuse for monstrous indifference. They need to fulfill their duty.

Well It's just blatant hypocrisy...freedom in this country has turned into nothing else but freedom for the criminals to run amok and murder innocent people...far worse than what happened in apartheid era...it's a huge mockery...man has never learnt that 2 evils never make a right and that evil should be dealt with whichever way the cookie crumbles...harsh and effective judgement should be brought upon those who take lives and cause crippling pain to the innocent...bring back the power of righteous policing irrespective of colour, creed or race and institute the death penalty for murder, hijacking and rape.

Declare all White South Africans refugees , not just the farmers. Give these hardworking, law abiding folk easy access to Australia , Britain and USA. Will do the countries receiving them the world of good!

"harsh and effective judgement should be brought upon those who take lives and cause crippling pain to the innocent...bring back the power of righteous policing irrespective of colour, creed or race and institute the death penalty for murder, hijacking and rape."

Now observe the deeply set racist ideology in my next statement.

Please show me a black run country anywhere in the world where righteous policing exists. Zambia and Botswana are probably the closest you're gonna find. But then of course we have Angola, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, DRC, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Somalia, Ethiopia and on and on and on where murder, rape, corruption and poverty are rife despite being the most resource rich nations in the world.

We are to believe that no black run country is efficiently managed and profitable nor policed correctly because somehow the world's white population has conspired to make it so. All the billions of AID money sent to Africa annually is a mere smoke screen. All a part of the conspiracy.

Whites will easily ramble off a list of our failures, areas where we as a race can improve and argue among each other about issues across the political spectrum.

Ever tried asking a black person what he feels the flaws of the black race are? Make yourself a reddit account and start a thread asking that question. Go on Youtube and try asking that question. See what happens.

You'll find that blacks are perfect. Their only flaw is white people and the effect they have on black people. So, not really a flaw at all.

Whites are blamed for the entire issue and blacks take zero responsibility for the plethora of failed states under their charge.

Anyone who says otherwise is immediately shut down and called a racist.

Well said. The problem with Africa is largely two fold, one it's tribal and secondly it's corrupt.

There are other issues but in my not so humble opinion those are the worst.

Sadly there is a lot of truth in what Plum wrote ...Africa is a lost cause which ever way you wish to see it...maybe the exception is Morocco but West, East,Central and now South all falling into the hands of dictators, murderers, extreme Marxism, looters, thieves etc.

I often think the white man should have never come to Africa and stayed in Europe and left Africa to their own devices...they would have sorted themselves out...the Tshakas , Dingaans, Msilikazes etc.. problem solved.

With that they would not keep pointing at the world and inventing excuses and with their iritating screams of racialism which is totally misused word and distorted meaning...it is incidentally similar to the screams and bleats of the sheeple of communism, capitalism, imperialism and colonialism of the past...all used incorrectly out of context and manipulating politicians using them as a hated  political slogan with stigma.
