ja & his amazing life changing connect with our homeland ...
A glimpse into the life of a drug addict on the streets of inner city Detroit. His dealer or “Sugarman” is the gate keeper to his escape from reality and the drug addict narrator holds him with high regards.
[Verse 1]
'Cause I'm tired of these scenes
For a blue coin, won't you bring back
All those colors to my dreams?
[Chorus]
If you haven't yet, watch this. I first heard Cold Fact from a much older brother of my best friend. Magic then. Still is.

Denny, yes, I grew up listening to Cold Fact and it was only many years later after seeing the movie that I learned he was very much a South African phenomenon and wasn't known anywhere else.
He did a few concerts in SA after the movie and I went to one. Good fun even if he was a bit past it.
I'm a big fan.
The beginning of Sandervan Lullaby reaches into a person's bloody soul. Still hands down on one of my favourite pieces of music.
And probably my favourite Rod lyric, from the track Silver Words...
"That the angels in the skies
Were envious and surprised
That anyone as nice as you
Would chance with me"
I just remembered. I once played some Rodriguez for an Italian from and I'll never forget his comment...
"What is this Mexican heroin music you are playing?"
Still makes me laugh.
Rodrigo…..Concierto de Aranjuez. The pinnacle of the guitar….it’s classical but has magnificent rhythm

"....it’s classical but and thus has superior and magnificent rhythm"
It is the peak of guitar.
The average 12 year-old classical guitarist has more command of the fretboard than the majority of adult rock guitarists.
Electric guitar = graphic novel
Classical guitar = Dostoevsky
Denny back in the day I exchanged music compilations on cassette with a few friends, one introduced me to ( Sugarman) & the legend. I loved the music but sweet f.a about the artist. But we were spoilt for choice back then with so much outstanding music.
Thanks Blob….played Rodrigo as I was having breakfast…..haunting.
