Cape Town - SA Rugby is reportedly set to meet with the SPCA after an alleged animal cruelty incident that occurred during the Springboks v All Blacks Test at Loftus Versfeld last year.
According to TimesLIVE, Beeno1, who was dressed in the commemorative red Springbok jersey, was ridiculed as a member of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) political party.
Beeno was also allegedly referred to as a baboon and had a banana thrown in his direction.
The report further states that a letter was sent to SA Rugby by advocate Lunga Soyi concerning the protocols dealing with abuse in October last year, but the governing body only responded on January 17.
In response, SA Rugby CEO Jurie Roux said they would be happy to meet the commission this week
