Mike you are right. It is perfectly normal that young daughters to have a "crush" on a strong father that they are proud of. It is not sexual at all and fathers must not feel guilty about that.

If what they are feeling is actually a sheer admiration or love for their father, that would be normal. He is the first man in their life that has been close to them, has been very protective, loving and kind to them, and it is quite normal that a father loves his daughter, and that a daughter loves her father, even to the point of dying for each other.
What is not normal is to feel lust towards their father, nor would it be normal for him to feel lust towards them. Parents and children naturally feel a strong bond, which is meant for the protection and care of the children, and such bond is not of sexual nature.
They need to sort their feelings out, and be happy that they have a loving and caring father, whom they can be proud of for having good looks as well.
There are many kids whose father, mother or both parents have neither of those qualities, or who have even abandoned them, contrary to their natural role.
On the one extreme, parents break their natural duty by abandoning the child. On the opposite extreme, parents break their natural duty by looking at or using their own offspring as a sexual partner.
