"comfort music" ......Blobbok??

Where is the "comfort music" in "where my legs used to be...."

"When the blood stained the sand and the water..."

"We were butchered like lambs at the slaughter.."

"He showered us with bullets and rained us with shells...."

And it just goes on....

You surprise me, would never have imagined you'd be the one to associate something that still pulls at the heartstrings of millions of Ozzies to this day as "comfort music"

I find your "comfort music" callous and insensitive.

Ffs. the ballad was sung at Aussie rugby home games after the anthems, & the NZ haka , giving their players a wee bit of composure time ....... anyway read/listen to the song before voicing your ill-informed opinion, the song is a celebration of bravery, comradeship & sacrifice for 'king' & country............. the games we play, simple entertainment.

I'm not aware that it was played after the anthems, I would only be aware if they were played on telly as I haven't been to an Ozzie home game in yonks.

Now that I know your reason behind the posting I'll admit it makes a lot of sense but put yourself in my shoes looking at the cold and hard contradiction posted of losing my legs and "comfort music"

As I've said it took me by surprise as I don't see you as that kind of person.

All good, mate.

I get the feeling I've wasted my time giving you a detailed account of what caused the misunderstanding. Fine by me if that's where you want to be.

Tx, all good. Always enjoy your comments. You're a rare breed that makes sense on here.

Naah I'm not really a beer popper and Fosters....awful stuff. Tell you what though, my son bought me a bottle of Klippes premium as a birthday present. Not a brandy drinker either but I can tell you it is smooth as...

David sure sent a tremor up Goliath and I'm pretty sure I detected a pommie choke as well.

Ja mate, Kiwis can cry foul and even the poms would agree. Pity also about the Black Caps batting, they knew about the failing and it was discussed even before they left NZ shores but hey that's what it is. Everyone keeps underestimating the Kiwis and they've never failed to prove us wrong at the WC.

Good on them.
