Another one I enjoyed was "A United Kingdom"...thought the pommie actress delivered a stunning performance.Didn't realise any of the sh!t that was going down and that's only because we were kept in the dark in good old SA.

From Wikipedia: Historical accuracy Edit The film, set at NASA in 1961, depicts segregated facilities such as the West Area Computing unit, an all-black group of female mathematicians, who were originally required to use separate dining and bathroom facilities. However, in reality, Dorothy Vaughan was promoted to supervisor of West Computing in 1949, becoming the first black supervisor at the NACA and one of the few female supervisors. In 1958, when the NACA made the transition to NASA, segregated facilities, including the West Computing office, were abolished. Dorothy Vaughan and many of the former West Computers transferred to the new Analysis and Computation Division (ACD), a racially and gender-integrated group.[7] Mary Jackson completed her engineering courses and earned a promotion to engineer in 1958, becoming NASA’s first black female engineer.[8] Katherine Johnson was assigned to the Flight Research Division in 1953, a move that soon became permanent. When the Space Task Group was formed in 1958, engineers from the Flight Research Division formed the core of the Group and Katherine moved along with them. She coauthored a research report in 1960, the first time a woman in the Flight Research Division had received credit as an author of a research report.[9] The Space Task Group was led by Robert Gilruth, not Al Harrison, who was created to simplify a more complex management structure. Vivian Mitchell and Paul Stafford are composites of several team members reflecting common social views and attitudes of the time. Karl Zielinski is based on Mary Jackson's mentor Kazimierz "Kaz" Czarnecki.[10] John Glenn, who was much older than depicted at the time of launch, did ask specifically for Johnson to verify the IBM calculations, although she had several days before the launch date to complete the process.[11]

Found it a moving experience and yes it tugged at my heart strings, thankfully the Director kept it lighthearted enough not to be sookie.
For what it's worth I hope the girls win an Academy Award.
Cloudy, A U nited Kingdom is also based on truth.

Went to see La La Land this afternoon....Brilliant! The last scene where they stare at each other for the last time pulled at my heart strings.
Hacksaw Ridge is next.

"The last scene where they stare at each other for the last time . . ."

Well there goes the twist in the end of the movie for anyone who hasn't seen it.

Oh you again, still snooping Huh? Well look we know you don't have a life but please allow others to enjoy theirs, will yu!?
An oh, there's no twist, the twist as we know is in your drug infused brain. La La Land is way beyond your intellectual level, way beyond, you stupid little boy, not that you can afford to see it anyway.

"La La Land is way beyond your intellectual level, way beyond, you stupid little boy, not that you can afford to see it anyway."
Intellectual? Really? I saw it about two months ago and I thought it was more about music and dance than anything intellectual. Just how dull-witted do you have to be to think such a simple movie was intellectual?
Anyway, none of this changes the fact that by posting a key part of the ending - ". . . for the last time" - you have given away an important part of the ending for anyone who hasn't seen the movie . . . just because you're an attention-seeking and inconsiderate arsehole.

Well, spin it however you want, chump, but I'm pretty sure anyone who hadn't seen the movie would have appreciated a simple "spoiler alert" or something like that. Just a tiny bit of consideration for your fellow posters, that's all . . . or is that asking too much?

But hey, its noted that you need everyone to know you've also seen the movie...

Ummmm . . . if it's so important to me then how come I didn't post about it back in January when I saw the movie, huh Dense?

Poor old Dense doesn't realize how much of his own sad and pathetic life he's giving away here. Imagine being such a loser that going to see a movie is such a big event in your life that you need to tell everyone about it on a message board?

LMAO!

 Run along Clown....you're boring me.
How many times do I have to remind you that I don't give a care about you, that I don't seek to engage you in any shape or form....that in truth you mean sweet nothing to me??
Trust me on this...tx.

You run off and have your little sulk Dense, just remember to put spoilers in future so you don't spoil movies for everyone else.

There's a good chap. Take whatever shreds of dignity you still have left and run along now. Bye!
