DeMarse said Bloomberg was quite proud of the book at the time. "He loves things that are about himself," she told Wolff. "He saw this as a tribute, a testimonial — which it was. He wanted everyone to get a copy." When reached for comment, DeMarse said she had nothing to add to what she told Wolff in 2001.

Wolff revealed a smattering of some of Bloomberg's purported remarks quoted in the booklet. For example, there's Bloomberg's purported quote about how a competitor is a "cokehead, womanizing, fag" on page 14, and "if Jesus was a Jew, why does he have a Puerto Rican first name?" on page 24.

"If women wanted to be appreciated for their brains," goes another purported Bloomberg quote on page 27, "they'd go to the library instead of to Bloomingdale's." On the same page: "I know for a fact that any self-respecting woman who walks past a construction site and doesn't get a whistle will turn around and walk past again and again until she does get one."

A Bloomberg spokesperson described the booklet to the New York Post in 2001 as a "gag book," that included "comments that may or may not have been said."

After the Washington Post published the document on Saturday morning, Wolff expressed misgivings about its contents on Twitter. "In the almost 20 years since I first identified and wrote about the almost 30-year-old Bloomberg booklet for NY Magazine, I have come to understand that it was as much a joke on itself, making fun of Bloomberg, rather than Bloomberg making fun of others," the journalist wrote. "I misunderstood the context then, others are clearly misunderstanding it now." When asked to clarify his remarks, Wolff referred Insider to his original tweets.

A compendium of political incorrectness....but quite funny in a NY sort of way. Will the dems overlook even this massive misstep in their insatiable desire to ‘get’ Teflon Don.

Mozart

He may be favoured by a faction in the media and the DP establishment in the absence of a real candidate of the DP to oppose Trump, but is must be borne in mind that -

*    until 2006 he was a Republican and he never endorsed Obama as presidential candidate in elections in 2008 and 2012; .

*     his comments about the search and frisk issue in New York while he was Mayor is going to cost him votes in the minority category;

*    he represent a small category of billionaires who preach liberalism but looks after their own financial interests more than anything else; and

*    he will ever be accepted as a candidate by the Social Democrats in the Party.

Bloomberg has only got money, 60 odd billion dollars of it.

He is busy buying the demonrat nomination.

So you have the billionaire trying to buy the Presidency up against a communist. What could go wrong for the Demonrats.

There is a civil war going on withing the demonrats. Hahahahaha.

The Antifa private army of the Democrats has been taken over by the Sanders clique  and are attacking anybody opposed to Sanders all over the USA - whether Democrat or Republican.  The longer the Primaries lasted the worst it will become.
