Brazil has the same problem as the US as to migrants trying to get into the US,   There are hundreds of thousands of Venezuala refugees fleeing from the county into neighbouring countries and that includes Brazil.

The regime in Venezuela  has destroyed the economy and rigged the last elections.  The population in general is starving and there is an acute shortage of medicine in the country,  the pressure on the neighbouring countries  - especially Brazil and Colombia is massive and I would not be surprised if they take military action against Venezuela.  

However, the chances are that Brazil will seek Russian support for such a move and Putin will be a key to such action.   We will see how the situation develop in future,
