Bolsonaro of Brazil joins Trump as One Term Failure

For Mr Bolsonaro , it is a humiliating defeat at the hands of a man he has routinely mocked as a criminal. 

The far right former army captain has often been compared to ex US President Donald Trump and has similarly questioned whether the election process is rigged against him. 

His handling of the pandemic is widely viewed as similarly disastrous; the New York Times reports that at least 687,962 people have died with COVID-19 - equivalent to one in every 307 Brazilians. 

It is one of the highest death tolls in the world and a report by the Brazilian Senate said Mr Bolsonaro should be charged for murder for the “stratospheric” levels of carnage he had presided over. Most damning of all, the report concluded, was the Government’s “deliberate and conscious” decision to delay the purchase of life saving vaccines. 

Mr Bolsonaro has yet to concede the race but will remain President until Lula’s inauguration on 1st January.

A bad time for present Governments - so the result was extremely close and SB is exultant about it - but the new Government will ally itself with China  and not with the piss poor President in Washington.    Dangerous times fore the whole of South America - the Chinese are slowly infiltrating the countries and will soon have enough allies to ensure a return to Chinese-type of dictatorship,    

We will see on Wednesday next week how the Democratic Socialists Party - the heroes of SB - and the disaster President is doing in the USA.    He is not campaigning - no candidates bar the idiots of his caliber  - wants anything to do with him.    The Democratic Party candidates promise the voters they will not support further idiocy in future - but in view of their behavior thus far very few people believe them.        

Biden is the failure….the US and world were in much better shape at the end of Trump’s term. It’s not even debatable.

We have already had a massive inflationary burst which has made life for many much harder. It’s likely that will be followed by a recession. Crime and foreign affairs are much worse. Biden has made America look like a spent force. There is a huge vacuum of leadership.

Something funny - I came across a name of a racehorse in England yesterday - namely Dr Mozart and put R20 on it to win just because of the name.  It came second.so I just laugh and bet on tennis players - 5 of them - and won R207.   The five players I think would win was Rublev, Hurkacz, Draper, Djokovic and Rune - so easy meat though Rune struggled against Wawrinka.   I took 6 players to win today - - they are Draper, Musetti, Tsitsipas, Medvedev, Auger Aliassime and Alcaraz - not as storg as my picks were yesterday..   

 Now back to SB and Stav.     They believe all the media lies and quote them on site all the time.   The latest joke was the Whitmer conspircary of the FBI to frame some people to abduct that mini-Hitler in Michigan - all in line with the Domestic Terrorist doctrine of the Democrats and Biden.  It really is embarrassing.to see how both SB especially and Stav often enough make utter fools of themselves.    When they quote their resources you can bet on it is fake news.       

I am pretty confident that the Republicans will take control of the House and the Senate next week.    In opinion polls when some pollsters give a race as tied or the Democrats with a majority of  less than 5% the Democrats will lose like happened in Virginia last year.    I read an explanation from Politico recently in which the problem is dealt with.    In general Republicans refuse to participate in political polls by especially certain institutions and the pollsters then rate them as "undecided".      In any event there is a build-in formula for identification of poll participants - with most polls having a majority of registered Democrats guaranteed - sometimes as many as 200 participants from a 1000 participants being in that category.   The way the polls are going  even registered Democrats are dissatisfied with the Biden Administration with a rate of 72% of the poll participants saying the country is on the wrong track at present.   That is indicative of  how even a minority of Democrats think the country is badly Administered at present.   The 28% saying otherwise are made up of arch liberals and leftists - as well as the supporters of the Sander's faction of the Party - the Democratic Socialists within the Democratic Party,   If the Democrats fail in the election next week - the moderate voters will desert the Party in droves as the remainder of the Democrats in the House and Senate will be hard leftist supporters,  

What will be interesting is the way the Hispanics vote next week,   In 2016 67% of the Hispanic vote went to  Clinton - in 2020 Biden's support was down to 57% and the polls indicates this time around the Hispanic support is down to 42%.   If that happens there are a number of House Districts  with 80% plus Hispanic voters that used to be solid Democrat and in the media is now rated as Leaning Democrat or toss-ups that would be indicative of the trend of voting,   If they go Republican this time around the Democratic Party will lose many seats - especially those bordering Mexico in Texas. and Rubio could win in Florida with a majority of near to er a million votes - the media now says that in his case the state is leaning to Republican or toss-ups.

De Santis will win easily in Florida - hope he is the Republican Party presidential candidate in 2024 - but the leftist media hate him as much as they hate Trump - so expect shenanigans and lies to be spread by SB and Stav as well.

Is there a bigger fool around in the world than you?  Your story linking Trump to Putin was colluding in the 2016 election still holds.   In a  posting  a few months ago you claimed you still believe it was the case - even after it became clear that the whole story was based on lies concocted by Clinton and the Obama Administration.

So what did Trump do in relationship with Russia - 

*   he banned the completion of the Baltic Sea pipeline to Germany;

*   he tore up the nuclear arms agreement with Russia because Russia was breaching the treaty;

*   he forced NATO members to pay their contractual obligations to NATO making him unpopular in Europe - but allowing for NATO to modernize equipment and improve their army strength - how could that possibly favor Russia?

Putin tried no antics when Trump was in charge - the same cannot be said with Biden around.  Putin despises Biden as a corrupt weakling puppet-President.   What Trump said is that Putin was brilliant in how he manage to deal with and describe Biden.   Maybe Trump was wrong - he did not realize how the braindead -caused by propaganda - idiots like you would react to it.

We will see next week how the voters react to having a dementia-suffering Puppet as President.  But in your book he was a better President than Trump?    Is anybody in the USA now better off than they were in 2020 and the answer is NO - except for the criminals in Government, the ultra-rich getting richer and the criminals getting free help from the Democrats.

No he didn't. Europe just re-confirmed they would honor previous spending commitments they had previously made. He was unpopular in Europe for many reasons.

The abortion issue is not anything like the Democrats  make it out to be.   Under the previous situation - the whole program as to abortion was controlled by bureaucratic regulations.   There was plenty wrong with the system - in the Supreme Court verdict there were compelling evidence of bribery and corruption involved.    What the Supreme Court ruled on was to get the necessary legislation governing abortion to be legally determined by the legislature elected by the people instead of bureaucrats  deciding without legislative cover on the issue of abortions.   Sounds quite like the system is brought under proper legislative control.   

You know what the average bribe paid by the Government to get an abortion was $750 - a lt of money in the case of the extreme poor.   The fact is there was no population growth in the Black community in the USA since the 1970's and the rea reason for that was abortions.  Abortion clinics became s source earning billions from Government and that is where the corruption became endemic.  

The pipeline story you come up was an outright lie - the construction of the pipeline stopped for months and only continued after Merkel complained  to Biden about it and he unbanned the sanction of Trump.   

The other story about NATO is a distortion as well.    Trump threatened the NATO members that he will withdraw some soldiers from Europe to return by the USA to the 3% commitment due by the US Government.    Your claim that NATO members out of the blue decided on their own to honor the 3% agreement is just about living on cloud 9 suggestion.   Trump clearly caused them to change their attitudes after years of extra reliance on the USA and under-contribution  to NATO.

As Crusadersfan said, that's a consequence of Trumps actions during his Presidency. He picked those judges who had previously expressed a strong desire to overturn Roe Vs Wade and who then went on to lie about the desire that during the nomination process.

Yeah I support the right to abortion. Maybe not in late term pregnancy unless going through with childbirth puts the mothers life at risk.

And BTW...abortions weren't banned, the authority was given back to the individual states to govern...huge difference deliberately being misrepresented...it should be difficult to kill a baby legally...it was horrendously easy for much too long!

One of the staggering things to me is the belief  that the moral side is  the right  to kill an unprotected life. In the meantime the same people would demonstrate in the streets to do away with the death sentence. 

Trump is no different to any other Republican President….they all nominate pro life judges. Democrats nominate pro choice judges. These nominees still have to pass the Senate. And then they still have to produce cogent legal arguments. 

Roe vs Wade has always been vulnerable. And now as Draad says it’s up to the States….you can live where your beliefs are followed.

But the moral crusade against this is strident. Sure it’s the woman’s body, but it’s the child’s life. I wonder how many of these right to choose people can actually conceptualize what’s happening. Certainly children and raped women should be spared. And early term terminations  can be reluctantly accepted.

But this is an ugly, brutal act perpetrated on the most vulnerable. There is nothing moral about it.

Late term abortions for anything other than serious medical necessity is pure EVIL...the mere fact that it's stil debated is staggering...Why should it always be a choice between two extremes?

Abortion is an abortion regardless of at what stage it happens. Sure, the closer to birth is worse because it is a more developed form of life- but abortion is abortion.

The morning-after pill could be classified as an abortion because it happens after the start of the process of life forming. What is better a young teenage girl getting pregnant and being forced to leave school and have her life turned upside down, or taking the morning-after pill.

Unplanned pregnancy creates an Africa-like situation, where the child either has one parent or no parent, or their parent's mother is still a child themselves. 

The ideal situation is that all children are born into the world with 2 parents that are married.
