Lets hope Brexit happens on 31 October. Looks increasingly like it will! Queen signs off!
Boris Suspends UK Parliament; Liberals FREAK OUT As UK Closer to Brexit!!!
Johnson has done this much earlier than expected for tactical reasons. He's looking to force a reaction from the opposition parties. He wants the no confidence vote to go ahead and to lose it so a general election is triggered.
In a general election he can then go to the people and appeal to the leave supporters and say" hey look I've been doing everything in my power to change the deal and was willing to leave without a deal but the opposition parties blocked me from doing it, now vote the Conservatives back into power with a majority and we can push through Brexit".
Johnson doesn't really want to leave with no deal but he wants to appear that he's willing too. If he wins a general election and the conservatives get a majority he can effectively throw the DUP under a bus, leave the backstop in but effectively fudge it up and rename so it appears different and then in theory get a slightly changed version of the current withdrawal agreement passed by parliament, its the only scenario where he wins and gets to stay on.
If he doesn't leave on the 31st of October the hard Brexit supporters in his party will abandon him and the Brexit party will continue to grow and hover up Tory voters. If he does leave with no deal he knows he will be squarely blamed for the economic disaster that follows and that could be the permanent end of the Conservatives.
He has to get a deal to survive as PM. That's his number one priority. But really its a question of can he win a majority in the general election. Polls show the Conservatives ahead in the polls but UK polling is not that accurate when it comes to seat allocation in the House of Common's because of the UK's first past the post voting system. Its very hard to call the outcome of a general election.

ConversationBoris Johnson@BorisJohnsonThe referendum result must be respected. We will leave the EU on 31st October. #LeaveOct311:17 PM · Aug 30, 2019·Twitter Web App2.4KAs I said Johnson wants to give the impression he will leave on the 31st with a deal or no deal, and he would leave on the 31st with a deal if he got one, but he knows that's highly unlikely. He knows leaving with no deal will be a disaster and so wants to be prevented from doing that but he can't be seen to back down or he will lose the hardline Brexit supporters that prop him up.
He needs Brexit to happen with a deal, that's the only way he can survive as Prime Minister.
Stav, I just saw the tweet and brought it here because of the obvious relevance.
Although I'm against total open border globalism, I'm yet to be convinced that Brexit is the only way to counter it. There are agendas at play here that we don't know about...what if BJ's only purpose is to Brexit, regardles of the cost to his career or his country?
What I do know is that the British Tribe has spoken almost 3 years ago and the politicians have been pussyfooting around the issue since then, but they are yet to give effect to the choice of the people...in effect ignoring the referendum and BSing all the way to make excuses for their derelict of duty....typical.
Which EU country would you have a problem with having open borders too and by open borders the people coming into the country would still have to show their passports on entry. Also they can only stay up to 3 months if they haven't the means to support themselves?
The agenda's are not unknown. Johnson is an opportunist plain and simple. The weekend before he came out in support of leave during the referendum he had to file his weekend column article to the Daily Telegraph the paper he wrote for at the time. He didn't know side to support the day before he came out so he sent two articles into the Telegraph one article saying he supported leave the other saying he supported remain. He didn't know which way he was going until an hour or so before he walked out and made the announcement a fact backed up by his brother in law. Does that sound like a man who's only purpose is Brexit? There is not a chance he would do anything to jeopardize his career.
Politicians have not been pussyfooting about, its just the complex reality of the situation that's derailed Brexiteers fantasies of sunny uplands filled with rainbows and unicorns. Its like voting to win the lottery. Just because you did vote doesn't mean in reality it can happen the way you think it can.
Just imagine your an MP in the UK and regardless if your constituency voted leave or remain you truly believe that a no deal Brexit will be an economic disaster because that's what the overwhelming mountain of evidence indicates it will be. You know it will cost thousand of jobs in your area and you know while your constituents may support Brexit right now they will turn on you when the loose their jobs. Would it not be a greater dereliction of duty to go forward with act that will hurt the people of the UK far more than it would benefit them?
Stav
I understand there are two meetings a week between EU and UK mediators to try and find a mutually acceptable agreement. Before that is finalized the Parliament can only disrupt those negotiations and until there is some real decision on the outcome it would just be another weapon for the EU to use to frustrate the negotiations.
There will be more than enough time for Parliament to consider the final situation and that would be better to discuss after some other agreement on departure has been reached,
The referendum wasn't about a deal or no deal Brexit...the Tribe spoke...Britain must leave, not dawdle for 3 years and then vote again. Pussyfooting indeed...
PS, I have no opinion about BJ, I don't care that he is an opportunist...the politicians in Britain have been ignoring the vote for 3 years. I thought they were supposed to be a democracy.
Johnson says he will refuse to ask for the extension under any circumstances, which at that point may be breaking the law so what would happen then?
Johnson has declared he will call a general election if the legislation is passed. But in order to do so he needs a 2/3 majority in parliament which means it would need Labour support. Would they back a general election?
There is also talk that EU may just offer the UK an extension on its accord and that parliament could simply vote on that and again bypass the PM.
Has Johnson been outmaneuvered or is it a double bluff? More twists and turns than a Tom Clancy novel.
And so its come to pass, parliament has taken control of Brexit away from Boris Johnson.
In affect its now illegal for the UK to leave the EU with no deal without parliamentary approval.
Johnson is pretty much knackered now and out of options. He has called for a general election but Corbyn is refusing to have Labour back a general election which is required until this bill is passed.
I don't see any other moves for Johnson now. The House of Lords which supports Brexit could attempt to filibuster the bill until parliament is prorogued but few think they can delay it long enough for that to happen.
Johnson has backed down from his claim he would ignore any law compelling him to ask for an extension and Jacob Reese Mogg has said Conservatives won't ask the Queen to withhold royal consent on the bill.
Apparently he has one other option that's completely off the spectrum. He could call a no confidence vote in himself and order the Conservative party to abstain in the vote effectively bringing down his own government. If this happen the opposition would be required to come up with an alternative government within 2 weeks or else a general election is triggered. That would be unlikely as the Tory Rebels won't support Corbyn and Corbyn won't support anyone else. Of course whats even more mad that calling no confidence in yourself is that it could fail because the opposition and rebel Tory MP might vote against the no confidence motion and prevent him from collapsing his own government. Imagine the sight of a government trying to collapse itself but being prevented from doing so by the opposition. Few reckon he would be mad enough to try it.
Benny's Bill has yet to be passed.
What is hilarious I'd Corbyn now not wanting an election. Boris says he will go for an election if Benny's Bill passes.
The fact is that Leave will win any election. Now these anti democratic scumbags want also to block an election.
The 21 Tory traitors are done.
Boris will win in due course but it could take a bit longer. We shall see.
The battle to defeat the globalists rages on.
Good news was the tremendous showing of the AFD in two state elections in Germany.
Although ousted for now Salvini is by far the most popular leader in Italy. He too is calling for elections he and his allies will win. But again his opponents are too scared to have an election. However it's just a matter of time before he takes power.
True it hasn't passed yet but its highly likely it will be.
Corbyn does want an election, he just wants the bill passed first. Johnson has the authority to move the election date once an election is agreed. If the bill isn't passed before an election is agreed Johnson could move the date of the election to after the 31st of October and force through a no deal that way. Smart move by the opposition. They have effectively checkmated Johnson at this point.
Polling does not indicate leave will win. Most indicates remain in the overall majority but split across several parties. The Conservatives might emerge as the biggest single party but will they have a majority to push through Brexit.
Winston Churchill's grandson is among them, a traitor is he? One mans traitor is another mans patriot. You know if Theresa May had kicked out those who voted against her, Boris Johnson would have been kicked out of the Conservatives long ago .
Your putting a good spin on both the AFD and Salvini failing.
