I was defending nobody - just making an observation  about a very poor effort as a joke.  

Where I do wonder is why Trump makes tweets that sound stupid.   As to media reports on what he allegedly said and their interpretation nothing is basically believable.   

Take for instance how they justified Comey when he was severely criticized by the Inspector General one has to see the extreme hatred of the left wing idiots in the media and their efforts to justify their opposition to Trump.   Weird and unbelievable.           

Trump certainly does say the oddest things at times.

Pretending he didn't say it is silly. We all heard him say it on live television. It's not a misquote or a typo. He stood in front of the world and opened his mouth. That's what came out.
