This is as per normal selected quotes from Trump without the real context of what Trump said neig taken into account.   It is not reflective of the actions he took in combatting the virus.   There is too much BS spreading going on that is trying to discredit Trump while coming up with no suggestions by the Democrats to deal with the issue.  For instance when it became clear that the virus could impact on the USA he closed the border insofar as China is concerned and was then accused of RACISM by the DP and the media.

If he did not take that step when he did that he situation would eb ten times worse thn it ius at present,   However, the extreme leftists actually now praise Trump for the emasures he has taken to combat the impact of the coronavirus in the USA,

Lapping up political propaganda of the DP is not the way to go.

A majority of Americans now approve of President Donald Trump’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic, according to a new survey, as the administration has issued stricter federal guidelines in recent days and the president has adopted a more public-facing role in combating the disease.

An ABC News/Ipsos poll released Friday reports that 55 percent of respondents approve of Trump’s management of the public health crisis, while 43 percent disapprove

......

It’s very hard for the Donald to adopt the serious mien required in these times....he is much more free wheeling. But over the last week he has and the country approves.

Bear in mind ABC is a globalist Trump hating propaganda machine.

55% could easily be 60 odd percent.

Positive maybe, but also irresponsible and just plain wrong. I'm sure people would have preferred the truth about Kung Flu from medical experts rather than bullshit from a bungling fool.

Come now, Redneck ... since when does a government tell it's citizens the truth?

Ours lie to us all the time. They promised their people free housing and a telephone in each, back in the 90's.

Do you think that the current stats of 402 coronavirus sufferers is the truth? Really??

Cyril is on the verge of a full blown panic attack.  He has no idea how to deal with this little bug. Restricting the sale of liquor seems to be his only solution.

Trump is keeping his people calm. Can you imagine an entire nation panic stricken?

Total chaos.

Sometimes a lie is better served than the naked truth.

27 January: "We pretty much have it under control. It's one person coming in from China."
26 February: "And the fifteen within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero."
4 March: "We're talking very low numbers in the Unites States, our numbers are lower than just about anybody."
Note that Bozo was talking about infections, not deaths . . . and then yesterday . . .
29 March: ". . . if we could hold that down, as we're saying, to a hundred thousand - it's a horrible number, maybe even less, but to a hundred thousand - we all together have done a very good job."
So basically, the same ignorant and irresponsible moron who said the USA only had 15 infections and that would drop to almost zero . . . that same blithering idiot and reprehensible liar is now saying that if they limit it to a hundred thousand deaths then he'll have done a great job?
Bozo called the Coronavirus a hoax, he downplayed it at every opportunity, made no preparations for testing and now the USA has more cases than any other country on the planet and the predicted death toll is five times the number of US casualties in the Second World War.
What say the Trumpanzees now?

Read this excellent article that compares the responses of South Korea and the USA after they recorded their first case of Covid-19.
Interestingly, both countries recorded their first case on the exact same day - January 20 - but as the article explains, that's where the similarities end.
Here's an excerpt:

"When the definitive history of the coronavirus pandemic is written, the date 20 January 2020 is certain to feature prominently. It was on that day that a 35-year-old man in Washington state, recently returned from visiting family in Wuhan in China, became the first person in the US to be diagnosed with the virus.
On the very same day, 5,000 miles away in Asia, the first confirmed case of Covid-19 was reported in South Korea. The confluence was striking, but there the similarities ended.

In the two months since that fateful day, the responses to coronavirus displayed by the US and South Korea have been polar opposites.

One country acted swiftly and aggressively to detect and isolate the virus, and by doing so has largely contained the crisis. The other country dithered and procrastinated, became mired in chaos and confusion, was distracted by the individual whims of its leader, and is now confronted by a health emergency of daunting proportions.

Within a week of its first confirmed case, South Korea’s disease control agency had summoned 20 private companies to the medical equivalent of a war-planning summit and told them to develop a test for the virus at lightning speed. A week after that, the first diagnostic test was approved and went into battle, identifying infected individuals who could then be quarantined to halt the advance of the disease.
The US response tells a different story. Two days after the first diagnosis in Washington state, Donald Trump went on air on CNBC and bragged: “We have it totally under control. It’s one person coming from China. It’s going to be just fine."
If you read the article you'll understand why South Korea has Covid 19 largely under control whereas the USA (whose president repeatedly claimed he had it all under control) is now the epicentre of the disease and it's spiralling further out of control.

Latest stats from Johns Hopkins University . . .

Only history will reveal the extent of Bozo's utter incompetence, his lies, his stupidity and his narcissism but if you want a current example of the kind of self-serving, childish, self-pitying and defensive behaviour that landed the USA in this mess then just watch this clip . . .

Read here about Jared Kushner's stunning arrogance and ignorance when he replied to NY Mayor Andrew Cuomo's request for 30 000 ventilators at the start of the outbreak. Here's Kushner's reply if you don't want to read the whole article
"I have all this data about I.C.U. capacity, I’m doing my own projections, and I’ve gotten a lot smarter about this. New York doesn’t need all the ventilators."
Normally this wouldn't be a big deal . . . I mean, who really cares what a non-medical, opportunistic and inept rich-kid thinks about Coronavirus or ventilators . . . but sadly, Bozo's unqualified son-in-law who has zero experience in medicine or diseases let alone a global pan demic. . . is the buffoon that Bozo decided would head up Bozo's ad hoc task team, effectively replacing the National Security Council's pandemic-reponse office that Bozo dismantled.
By the way, you normally can't read articles on the New York Times website unless you're a subscriber but they've allowed free registration during the Covid-19 crisis so take advantage.

This thread needs an update. I'm including dates of warnings that were given to Bozo that he ignored . . .

Here’s a partial timeline:

  • Starting “at the beginning of January,” and continuing through February, the PDB repeatedly mentioned the outbreak, according to the Post. By mid- or late January, the coronavirus was a frequent and central topic.
  • On January 18, per The New York Times, Secretary of Health and Human Services Alex Azar first briefed Trump about the virus, via phone.
  • On January 22, speaking to CNBC in Davos, Switzerland, Trump dismissed the virus: “We have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China, and we have it under control.” (He also expressed confidence that China was forthcoming about the outbreak.)
  • On January 27, the Post has reported, top White House aides met about the virus, with one warning that an outbreak could cost Trump his reelection.
  • On January 29, the trade adviser Peter Navarro wrote in a memo that the virus could cause mass loss of life and economic destruction.
  • On January 31, Trump banned entry into the U.S. for most foreigners who had been in China, though by then there were already cases in the United States, and the ban excepted Americans who had been in China.

  • After a February 5 briefing, senators asked the White House to act more aggressively. “Just left the Administration briefing on Coronavirus,” tweeted Senator Chris Murphy, a Connecticut Democrat. “Bottom line: they aren’t taking this seriously enough. Notably, no request for ANY emergency funding, which is a big mistake. Local health systems need supplies, training, screening staff etc. And they need it now.”

  • On February 25, Nancy Messonnier of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases warned that “disruption to everyday life may be severe” as a result of the virus. Trump was reportedly furious that Messonnier had needlessly scared the public. He did not recommend social distancing until March 16.

In addition, the Post reports that American officials embedded at the World Health Organization‚ which Trump has since blamed for covering up the outbreak, were feeding information about the coronavirus to Washington, starting late last year.

So when the incompetent clown with the blood of thousands of Americans on his hands says stupid stuff like "nobody saw this coming" or "we did a great job", have another read of this thread to see what actually happened.

History is not going to be kind to the worst US president of all time . . . and all those dull-witted and brainwashed Trumpanzees will eventually come to realize they were duped by a con-man . . . and not a very good con-man at that!

And when he banned flights from China......China, Europe, the Democrats and many others went nuts. If he had some support for that decision, it’s quite possible the European bans would have been made earlier.

And how credible is the WHO story when they are on tape denying person to  person transfer well into January.

Anybody with a sense of fair play would  reject this rubbish....that qualification of course excludes Peeper.

Not a word about the NY mayor and health commissioner urging people to attend the Chinatown celebrations in February, where thousands of people congregated together with confirmed cases already in the US?

Fauci January 26 responding to whether he thinks Americans should be scared:
“I don’t think so,” Fauci said. “The American people should not be worried or frightened by this. It’s a very, very low risk to the United States, but it’s something we, as public health officials, need to take very seriously.”

Fauci 25 February: “You need to do nothing different than you’re already doing,”

De Blasio 2 March: "I’m encouraging New Yorkers to go on with your lives and get out on the town despite Coronavirus."

De Blasio 11 March: "I am telling people to not avoid restaurants, not avoid normal things that people do. . . . If you’re not sick, you should be going about your life."

16 March: The NY Times report the mayor’s “top aides were furiously trying to change the mayor’s approach to the coronavirus outbreak." Some of his health officials were even threatening to resign.

I take it the situation in NY is also Trump's fault?

Bozo's Coronavirus calendar update . . .

To think that Bozo (and his adoring Trumpanzees) to this day can't admit that he got it horribly wrong!

A fool talking rubbish about a subject he knows nothing about . . . and pretending he's doing a great job!

You'd have to be as stupid as Trumpanzee to watch that clip and still believe Bozo is not a complete and utter idiot botching a job that he's never been qualified to do.
