Bozo has asked his aides to investigate the possibility of buying Greenland from Denmark.

I thought this was a joke when I first saw it but if you Google it you'll see he's being serious.

Lots of funny comments on Twitter. Here are a few . . .

Trump wants to buy #Greenland? Let’s make him find it on a map first. (Bette Midler)

Greenland can replace Alaska after Trump gives it back to Russia for Putin's birthday. (Garry Kasparov)

Can trump really affjord to buy Greenland?

When fucking up 50 states just isn't enough . . .

Donald Trump would like to buy Greenland because it's the only thing colder than his marriage.

If Donald Trump thinks Greenland is for sale, I can't wait to see what he does with the next email he gets from a Nigerian spammer.

If we buy Greenland, can we please send all the Trump voters there?

Trump does know that Greenland is the icy one and Iceland is the green one, right?

The craziest thing about Trump wanting to buy Greenland is it’s only like the 4,876th most insane thing he’s said since saying he wanted to create a Space Force.

Is Trump gonna make Denmark pay for it when we buy Greenland?

Nothing really new here - the USA bought Alaska from Russia in the 19th Century and Greenland is as snow covered as Alaska with a very small population.

Mayb e he thinks it would be an excellent place for housing the Antifa terrorists.

Greenland has a population of 56,171 in 2017.

USA has some military there and is useful strategically.

Maybe Denmark will sell.

Of course ou rooibozo cant see further than his admittedly long noze.

By the way one notes the Biden campaign is saying Biden should not do much public speaking so as to reduce the number of blunders. Bwhahahahaha what a strategy. Sleepy Joe like rooibozo has become a laughing stock.

I'm guessing the Trumpanzees and climate deniers (usually the same thing) are missing the irony of Bozo wanting to buy Greenland.
Aside from the naive stupidity and arrogance of wanting to "buy" a country that has its own autonomous government and is owned by another sovereign state, it's pretty obvious to anyone with half a brain why Bozo wants to get his grubby paws on Greenland.
Greenland has a lot of natural resources like oil, uranium, gold and iron ore but for so many centuries these resources have been locked away under an ice sheet. That ice sheet has started melting away in recent years because of . . . ummmm . . . global warming! . . . and now suddenly Bozo - who doesn't believe in global warming - wants to buy the island so he can mine the resources.
Not sure if the Trumpanzees are too stupid or too biased to get the irony but it's rather obvious to everyone else.

Anyone who thought this Greenland thing was all just a light-hearted joke by Bozo, think again.
Bozo has cancelled his scheduled visit to Denmark and the reason is because Denmark's Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen called his idea of buying Greenland "absurd" and because she has "no interest" in discussing the purchase any further.
So Bozo goes ahead and cancels a visit to Denmark which was at the invitation of Queen Margrethe II and accepted long before Bozo's stupid idea of purchasing Greenland was announced.
Bozo's behaviour is that of a rude, petulant and spoiled child who didn't get what he wanted.

"I thought that the prime's statement that it was absurd, that it was an absurd idea was nasty."

Sniff . . . poor little dear . . . those nasty Danes! Fact is it was an absurd and extremely arrogant idea, Bozo, even if you're too dumb to realise it. How much are you asking for California you stupid fat twat? Huh?
"I thought it was an inappropriate statement. All she had to do is say no, we wouldn't be interested."

That's what she said, Bozo, she said no . . . which is why you're throwing your toys out of the cot like a pathetic little baby.

"She's not talking to me. She's talking to the United States of America. You don't talk to the United States that way, at least under me."

Ummmm . . . no, she was talking to you Bozo, you ignorant arrogant buffoon, and what better time to make fun of the USA when it's being run by a bungling clown like you?

Greenland is a microcosm of the Trump presidency.

Donald Trump won't be going to Denmark in 10 days. Because the Danes won't sell him Greenland.

Denmark is a very special country with incredible people, but based on Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen's comments, that she would have no interest in discussing the purchase of Greenland, I will be postponing our meeting scheduled in two weeks for another time," Trump tweeted Tuesday night. "The Prime Minister was able to save a great deal of expense and effort for both the United States and Denmark by being so direct. I thank her for that and look forward to rescheduling sometime in the future!"

It's easy to dismiss this episode as just another Trumpian flight of fancy that didn't work out. But take a minute and you start to realize that the whole Greenland incident, which lasted a total of five days, is broadly emblematic of the entire approach that Trump has taken to being president. The Greenland episode is the Trump presidency.
Consider how we got here:1) The Wall Street Journal reported last Thursday that Trump has repeatedly quizzed aides on the possibility of buying Greenland.2) On Sunday, before boarding Air Force One in New Jersey to head back to Washington, Trump addressed the story for the first time. Here's the key part of what he said (bolding is mine): "Denmark essentially owns it. We're very good allies with Denmark. We protect Denmark like we protect large portions of the world. So the concept came up and I said, 'Certainly, I'd be. Strategically, it's interesting, and we'd be interested.' But we'll talk to them a little bit. It's not number one on the burner, I can tell you that."3) Denmark's government freaks out. "Greenland is not for sale. Greenland is not Danish. Greenland belongs to Greenland," Frederiksen, the Danish Prime Minister, told the newspaper Sermitsiaq on Sunday. "I strongly hope that this is not meant seriously."4) Trump cancels the Denmark trip, citing Fredericksen's comments that Greenland isn't for sale.5) Trump is asked about the whole thing and tells reporters that he thought the prime minister's statement (that the idea of selling Greenland to the US was "absurd") was "nasty" and "inappropriate."What a whirlwind! Now consider the Greenland purchase in the context of Trump's broader presidency. It meets all the criteria that have come to define his "modern-day presidential" approach to the job.*Come up with a totally off-the-wall idea, with a whiff of America-gets-its-way-no-matter-what in there*Idea leaks -- or the White House leaks it as a trial balloon -- to the media, with the caveat that his aides aren't sure if he is serious about it*Downplay idea, insisting the media got it wrong -- even while leaving the door open to doing the deal if the other side is open to it*Take ball and go home when off-the-wall idea is rejected, jeopardizing relationship with longtime strategic allySee, the Greenland story really does have it all! It is the Trump presidency in microcosm. He says and does absolutely wild things. Even his top staffers aren't sure how serious he is about it, and, therefore, don't know whether to actually pursue it. The idea leaks to the media and immediately becomes a thing. Trump freelances, making up his views as he goes. A semi-serious conversation about whether any of this is even possible begins even as the intended target starts to freak out. Trump, either spurred or spurned by all of the attention, leans in -- to it all. Then it all unravels because, as we later learn, he was winging it all along. There was never any "there" there -- just Trump saying stuff.(A quick sidebar on the this-is-all-a-strategic-distraction from gun control or immigration, etc., argument: No, it isn't. Is there anything you have seen in Trump's time in office that would lead you to believe that he is capable of that sort of strategic planning and execution? It's readily apparent at this point that Trump is just saying stuff -- and then reacting to how those things land with the general public. There is no three-dimensional chess. There's not any kind of chess being played.)
Greenland was never for sale. Mexico was never going to pay for the wall. His inauguration crowd was never the largest in history. There was not blame on both sides in the white supremacist riots in Charlottesville. Immigrants were never invading our country in hordes. Background checks were never going to happen. You get the idea. It's the Trump presidency.

    MAKE GREENLAND PART OF AMERICA

When President Trump tweeted about buying the autonomous territory of Greenland and later jokingly promised “not” to build a gold Trump Tower there, many pundits called it, “absurd “or “crazy.”(READ ON OAKS)

But Trump has now called off a long-planned 2-3 September visit to Denmark after the Danish prime minister, Mette Frederiksen, herself called his idea of the US buying Greenland, an autonomous Danish territory, “absurd” and dismissed it completely.(MORE ON THAT SEE - MY NEXT POST)

But is it`?  GREAT QUESTION AND ONE POOR DUMBASS ROOIBOZO SHOULD HAVE ASKED HIMSELF)

Greenland, the world’s largest island, is an unconnected territory to Denmark (population 5.7 million) and has been for only a millennium.

It has a population of just 57,000, 89 percent of whom are Inuit (Eskimos).

Socialist Denmark does next to nothing for them and the rates of unemployment, alcoholism and suicide are exceptionally high.

Geographically the island is considered a part of North America, not Europe.

It is and has been an important part of the Artic, an area of significant interest to both Russia and China.

With considerable mineral wealth, gold, and potential oil & gas reserves, Greenland is not something to exactly sneeze at.

    It is absolutely strategic.

The US already has valuable bases there, including the vitally important, Thule Air Force base, which is critical in forward positioning of nuclear bombers and surveillance radar systems.

More crucially—Greenland has known and present production of Rare Earth Minerals, critically important to the high-tech future and manufacturing of everything — from computers to iPhones to sensors and batteries.

China is the dominant player in this market and has recently threatened to cut the US off from its supply. ( OU ROOIBOZO ARE YOU GETTING  A GLIMMER YET YOU PROFOUNDLY SILLY TOAD!)

    The West badly needs alternatives.

Last year, notably, The People’s Republic of China offered to fund three airports in Greenland to develop minerals. It wants to control this strategic output and bring Greenland into its fold—perhaps, extending its mercantilist Belt and Road Initiative there.

President Trump is no fool and has a career as a real estate wheeler dealer. This would be a legacy deal of a lifetime.

Is obtaining Greenland really such a “crazy” and “absurd” idea?

Remember the US bought the US Virgin Islands from the same, Kingdom of Denmark in 1917. Already then, Greenland was on the table.

US history is replete with important and telltale land deals.

Steward’s Folly”—the purchase of Alaska from Russia in 1867 turned out to be one of the best purchases of all time.

The 1803 purchase by President Thomas Jefferson from France, of the Louisiana Territory, greatly expanded the size and wealth of the United States and defined its very westward expansion.

Leftist critics have denounced everything-Trump and see this as a colonialist bent or a mockery of native rights.

Well, Denmark is in fact the colonizer and has a bill exceeding $700 million a year to carry the island of Greenland, something its own citizens loudly complain over.

This is Denmark which sits as a near nonpaying member of NATO since it has never met its 2 percent obligations and allows the US to pick up the tab for defending it (and Greenland).

Why not put a plebiscite to the actual native peoples of Greenland since they are not an independent country, nor are they integrated into Denmark proper?

Here is the Question: Would you like to become citizens of the richest country on earth and develop, while each receiving a direct nontaxable payment from the US Treasury for your island ,paid as a sovereign fund allotting you a significant stipend every year for perpetuity or do you want to stay as a colony of oppressive Denmark and receive nothing?

I think I can probably guess the answer.

YES OF COURSE. ALL TH IS GOES SWOOOOOSH OVER THAT DUMBASS ROOIBOZO'S FLAT EMPTY HEAD!

Top Danish Official Disses Trump, Then Is Shocked When He Cancels Planned Trip There

First some background that may help poor rooibozo the boards supreme jackass. Wee Hussein Obummer America's first Kenyan muslim president went to China there was no stairway for him to disembark. No red carpet and finally they found a stairway where obummer could get off from the back of the aircraft. Nobody that important was there to greet him. When the hopeless fop went to lowly Cuba there were no senior officials to great him. Huge insults. At the time Trump said he would have just ordered Airforce 1 to fly away! Trump correctly noted that any such insult was an insult to the Presidency and an insult to the USA. Now consider this:
When President Trump floated the idea that the United States might be interested in buying Greenland from Denmark, top Danish officials blasted him

Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen ridiculed the notion, saying it was “absurd.

It’s an absurd discussion, and [Greenland Premier] Kim Kielsen has of course made it clear that Greenland is not for sale. That’s where the conversation ends,” she said.(TELLING POTUS HIS VERY REASONABLE DESIRE TO DISCUSS THE MATTER IS ABSURD WAS VERY RUDE AND VERY SILLY AND DIDN'T END WELL FOR LITTLE DENMARK)

“Thankfully, the time where you buy and sell other countries and populations is over. Let’s leave it there. Jokes aside, we will of course love to have an even closer strategic relationship with the United States,” Frederiksen said. “Greenland is not for sale. Greenland is not Danish. Greenland belongs to Greenland. I strongly hope that this is not meant seriously,” Frederiksen told newspaper Sermitsiaq.

Of course, U.S. presidents have sought to buy the strategic island in the past. In 1946, the U.S. offered to pay Denmark $100 million to purchase Greenland. That deal fell through, but Denmark in 1951 allowed the U.S. to build military bases and radar stations on Greenland. The U.S. Air Force still has a base in northern Greenland.

After he was ridiculed, Trump felt disrespected and promptly canceled his upcoming trip to Denmark (GREAT !!! NOW NOTE THE VERY CLASSY PUT DOWN!! ). But he also praised the prime minister for being frank, saying his visit was mostly to discuss the notion of buying Greenland.

“Denmark is a very special country with incredible people, but based on Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen’s comments, that she would have no interest in discussing the purchase of Greenland, I will be postponing our meeting scheduled in two weeks for another time,” Trump wrote Tuesday on Twitter. “The Prime Minister was able to save a great deal of expense and effort for both the United States and Denmark by being so direct. I thank her for that and look forward to rescheduling sometime in the future!”

.The Prime Minister was able to save a great deal of expense and effort for both the United States and Denmark by being so direct. I thank her for that and look forward to rescheduling sometime in the future!

    — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 20, 2019
    BWAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
    NOW COME THE LAMENTS

But that made the great Danes even more angry.

Frederiksen said Trump’s decision left her “disappointed and surprised.”(SURPISED!!! YOU ACT LIKE A RUDE LOON AND YOU ARE SURPRISED - THIS WACKO COULD BE AS BAD AS THE NZ  NUTJOB. NO NOT REALLY!)

“I’d like to say that I am, of course, both disappointed and surprised that the American president has cancelled his state visit,” Frederiksen told press in Copenhagen on Wednesday afternoon. “Like many others, I was looking forward to the visit. We were full speed ahead with preparations.” BUT YOU GOT NOTHING! OH MY ACHING SIDES !!

Helle Thorning-Schmidt, a former Danish prime minister, also weighed in, writing on Twitter that Trump’s cancellation was “deeply insulting to the people of Greenland and Denmark.” GOOD EXACTLY WHAT YOUR BEHAVIOUR DESERVED!

Queen Margrethe II, who had extended the Sept. 2 invitation to Trump, also found the president’s decision “came as a surprise.” PROBABLY SURPRISED THE PM AND CREW COULD BE SO DUMB!

“That’s all we have to say about that,” the Royal House’s communications director said in a TV interview.

The Danish royal house’s staff had canceled summer vacation to prepare for the presidential visit, and one newspaper said food and drink had already been ordered for a state dinner hosted by the Queen.

“Danish national daily Berlingske’s political commentator Thomas Larsen has also given his views on the controversial decision,” the U.K.’s Express newspaper reported.

He said: “It’s an unheard of situation. You almost lack words. No one is behaving like this on the international scene and certainly not an American president.

This is an insult of the highest weight (EXACTLY.  WEE LITTLE DENMARK GOT SLAPPED DOWN IN THE MOST DELICIOUS WAY!

. A state visit usually helps confirm a friendship, a relationship and an alliance between two countries.(YES AS LONG AS YOU DON'T

INSULT YOUR FRIEND WHO HAPPENS TO BE THE PRESIDENT OF THE WORLD'S ONLY SUPERPOWER!)

But I think the royal house and the State Department are aware that it is a special gentleman sitting in the White House these days.”(E XACTLY AND NOW MAYBE BEFORE RUNNING OFF YOU BIG MOUTHS YOU WILL ENGAGE LONELY BRAIN CELL

“But that he cancels for this reason, I don’t thinK anyone could have imagined. I think people are paralysed.” EXACTLY YOU PIPSQUEAKS BIT OFF MORE THAN YOU COULD CHEW!!

SCORE TRUMP FULL HOUSE 10 POINTS. DENMARK - 10

BWAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA DANES GOT WALLOPED AND LEFT PARALYSED! FUNNIEST THING!

Trump should have known that offering to buy a country or territory of another country could been seen as offensive. It could viewed as effectively buying and selling people.

The Danes on the other hand should have been more diplomatic and just declined the offer without calling it absurd.

While Trump could feel slightly aggrieved at the Danes reply, likewise he should have been statesman like and just let it go, but he can never let anything go and took to venting on twitter as is the norm. He's also blatantly lying (again) when he said he's not going to Denmark now because his main reason for going (discussing buying Greenland) is off the table. He was invited to Denmark by the Danish r oyal family and they certainly did not invite him over to discuss the sale of Greenland.

Draad of course there is substance to all this and the best thing would be for the USA to take over.

As i reported there are very substantial reasons why Greenland should if at all possible be purchased from the great danes. Why the heck do you think there have been these past attempts to purchase Greenland. Don't think i included demoncrat Speaker Harry Reid wanting to acquire Greenland .

As usual poor rooibozo has no clue whatsoever. Hahahahahahahaha man have you ever met a dumbass like this jackaass!
