If the tragedy in Las Vegas doesn't wake the conservative Americans up to the danger of guns then I don't know what will.

Chicago for example is a gun free zone. Criminals find ways to get guns. Rooitwit poor old cankles Clinton got roasted on twitter when the moron went after the NRA.As usual you appear appear about as ignorant as it is possible to be. Bwahahahahahahahha

These types of weapons are banned Federally, but individual States have different levels of implementation. Nevada is apparently rather lax. For a deranged person like this, absent guns, he would;likely have fulfilled his compulsion in other ways. I doubt terrorism is going to stop because of stricter gun laws. If anything it's likely to morph into more deadly forms.
..
But I strongly support much stronger gun control because guns promote violent crime and often tragic accidents in the home.

"I doubt terrorism is going to stop because of stricter gun laws."
Like I said on another thread, only the most ignorant, brainwashed and biased fool would think that this is an act of terrorism based on the evidence at hand.
Stephen Paddock was not a "soldier of the caliphate", he was a sad, disillusioned and mentally unbalanced gambler who had probably just lost a lot of money and who lives in a country where he is legally allowed to own as many high-powered assault rifles as he wants.

but individual States have different levels of implementation.
That's half the problem, there's no uniformity of control.....dumb! Nevada from my understanding being the extreme with zero laws of control as we've just witnessed.

'Like I said'.....rather poor English. Weren't you taught it's "as I said'? And here's the thing Lush, who said he is a soldier of the caliphate. So far only Isis has made that claim. Stop getting hysterical you silly clown.

Firstly this meets Nevada's definition of terrorism....the relevant legal jurisdiction:
,,,
NRS?202.4415??“Act of terrorism” defined.
1.??“Act of terrorism” means any act that involves the use or attempted use of sabotage, coercion or violence which is intended to:
(a)?Cause great bodily harm or death to the general population; or
(b)?Cause substantial destruction, contamination or impairment of:
(1)?Any building or infrastructure, communications, transportation, utilities or services; or
(2)?Any natural resource or the environment.
2.??As used in this section, “coercion” does not include an act of civil disobedience.
(Added to NRS by 2003, 2947)
.
Or perhaps you would prefer this definition of terrorism:
.
After the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013, then-President Barack Obama came up with his own designation for the term: “Any time bombs are used to target innocent civilians, it is an act of terror,” he said before the identity of the attackers or their motivation had been established.
...
Substitute guns for bombs and this was terrorism according to Obama's definition. Terrorism is not limited to the Caliphate.
....
Your rush to use this horrible incident to attack your fellow posters is disgusting but in character.

Nobody made an 'ignorant' comment Lush. I said that banning guns was unlikely to stop terrorism, I never even equated this incident with terrorism, although de facto it is. Beeno said Isis has claimed responsibility for the massacre, which they did....no more.
..
Your spiteful gotcha attacks are not appropriate or accurate. Shut your face.

That's a lot of effort to try and hide something everyone can clearly see for themselves, Moffie. Bit embarrassing really . . . but keep it up! We could all use a laugh.

Draad, Australia is an a lot safer place with it's gun control laws ever since they were introduced after the Port Arthur massacre and I really don't see why difference in population would make it less effective. To me that's just another excuse and a poor one at that.

For me it's not about gun control, but rather the gradual restrictions on freedom in general. Humanity is breeding itself out of existance. It is increasingly more difficult to control the ever increasing masses. Sure, there has to be some control over any kind of dangerous items, but one gets the idea that the long term goal is to disarm the entire populace completely. That means that one's freedom and safety will be in the hands of the government. That seems to be fine in well governed countries, but history has proven that things can change for the worse in a heartbeat. I am convinced that guns saves more lives than not. The last line of defence in a world getting ever more dangerous. I'm relatively safe ATM, but like I said, things change rapidly. A friend of mine was robbed at gun point on Thursday...in broad daylight next to a busy freeway. The day will probably come when I will need to buy a weapon too. Be very thankful if you never need one, but be mindful that others might.
