Cheney unleashes on GOP colleagues who asked Trump for pardons after Jan 6: ‘Your dishonour will remain’

Rep Liz Cheney, vice-chair of the select committee investigating the January 6 attack on Congress, unleashed on her own party during the panel’s first hearing on Thursday.

“Tonight, I say this to my Republican colleagues who are defending the indefensible: There will come a day when Donald Trump is gone, but your dishonor will remain,” Ms Cheney said, noting how a number of Republican lawmakers sought pardons from President Trump over the January 6 violence..

Rep Bennie Thompson, chairman of the House January 6 select committee, on Thursday opened the first of the panel’s hearings on the worst attack on the Capitol since 1814 with a stark warning: American democracy “remains in danger”.

In a statement delivered across most major US television networks to millions of viewers, Representative Bennie Thompson said America could not“sweep what happened” on 6 January 2021 “under the rug” as many of his Republican colleagues would wish, because the same types of threats that existed before that day remain extant.

“The conspiracy to thwart the will of the people is not over. There are those in this country who thirst for power but have no love or respect for what makes America great: devotion to the Constitution, allegiance to the rule of law, our shared journey to build a more perfect Union,” Mr Thompson said.

The select committee’s vice-chair, Wyoming Representative Liz Cheney, said Mr Trump welcomed the violence at the Capitol and “refused for hours ” to take any step to stop it despite being begged to do so by “his staff, his family, and many of his other advisers”.

Mr Thompson, a Mississippi Democrat, began his remarks by telling viewers that he grew up in a part of the country “where people justify the actions of slavery, Ku Klux Klan and lynching” and noted how even Abraham Lincoln had made his cabinet sign a memorandum memorialising his intention to cooperate with his opponent if he lost his re-election bid.

Every president had done the same, he said, until Donald Trump.

Mr Thompson said Mr Trump, rather than accept defeat in the 2020 election, “spurred a mob of domestic enemies of the Constitution to march down to the Capitol” in what the chairman described as “the culmination of an attempted coup”.

“Donald Trump was at the center of this conspiracy and ultimately, Donald Trump, the president of the United States, spurred a mob of domestic enemies of the constitution to March down the Capitol and subvert American democracy,” he said.

Ms Cheney delivered a meticulous speech describing that the panel will present chilling evidence that Mr Trump’s inaction was deliberate and was fueled by his “intention to remain President of the United States despite the lawful outcome of the 2020 election, and in violation of his constitutional obligation to relinquish power”.

“You will hear testimony that ‘the president did not really want to put anything out calling off the riot or asking his supporters to leave’. You will hear President Trump was yelling and really angry at advisor‘s who told him he needed to be doing something more,” she said. “And aware of the rioters chants to hang Mike Pence the president responded with this sentiment: ‘Maybe our supporters have the right idea. Mike Pence deserves it”.

Ms Cheney also promised that the panel would use its’ last two hearings to reveal evidence that Mr Trump “summoned a violent mob and directed them illegally to march on the United States Capitol” and then did nothing to stop them.

She said an 18 December 2020 tweet in which Mr Trump predicted that protests on 6 January “would be wild” came after an hours-long meeting with his attorney Rudolph Giuliani, conspiracy theorist and attorney Sidney Powell, and Michael Flynn, the disgraced former US army general who was his first national security adviser.

“The tweet led to the planning for what occurred on January 6, including by the Proud Boys, who ultimately led the invasion of the Capitol – of the US Capitol — and violence on that day,” she said.

And as Mr Trump watched the riot, Ms Cheney said he “not only ... refused to tell the mob to leave the Capitol” but “placed no call to ... instruct that the Capitol be defended”.

“He did not call his secretary of defense on January 6. He did not talk to his attorney general, he did not talk to the Department of Homeland Security,” she said. “President Trump gave no order to deploy the national guard that day, and he made no effort to work with the department of justice to coordinate and deploy law enforcement assets”.

Ms Cheney then played a recording of General Mark Miller, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, recounting a meeting with Mr Trump’s then-chief of staff, Mark Meadows, in which Mr Meadows urged him to “establish the narrative” that it was Mr Trump — not Mr Pence — who contacted the Pentagon that day.

I just saw the highlights of the first Jan 6th live hearing, and was impressed.
Ivanka Trump saying she does not believe that Trump won the election is pretty damming, as was the statement from William Barr.

Donald Trump will be in jail within 3 months...What remains to be seen his how many of his collaborators will join him in the orange jump suit. 

The fact is the Republicans voting for Biden has been shown the door by the Republicans as untrustworthy members and they are going to be out of  the House by the end of this year.   So lets look at the few mentioned:-

*     Romney went to Tump to plead for his support to run as Senator for Utah and was supported y Trump - he won in Utah and then think that he could oust Trump fom the Presidency and take over after losing the 2012 election against Obama.    He is a Mormon and his principles are non-existent and he would go all the way to try and lead the Republican Party.   He has links to one of the biggest crook companies involved in corruption in SA - a company named in the Zondo .report was really crooked and fleeced the SA Government and the Revenue service for millions of dollars.    Yes he is smart - but is he honest  - extremely doubtful.   

*      Cheney was the Chair of the Republican Party in the House.   Like her father she is a warmonger with corrupt links to the arms industry.   Her father as Deputy President was the Chief Instigator of the 2003 war in Iraq based on the "weapons of mass destruction" lie concocted by Mueller - remember him  .   She was ambitious and  thought she could take over the Republican Party leadership and make extra money from the Armaments Industry if they could get rid of Trump/    Her leadership campaign in the Party got her nowhere and she was kicked out of her Chairmanship already in January 2022 .   She will be out of the House by January 2023 - as she will not be re-elected as House member for Wyoming - her support as a candidate has dropped to 18%. according to opinion polls.   A typical career politician with corrupt links enriching herself.     

Now  lets get to the selected part of the January 6 Committee.   The Committee was set up by the House with the following membership -  the Chairiman - to be a Democrat plus 3 Democratic Party members and 3 Republican Party members to be nominated by the Parties concerned.   Pelosi selected the members and decided on the Chairman and four Democrats and two Republicans - which was totally against what the House decided on in a bi-partisan vote.    The Republicans then nominated their 2 members and Pelosi vetoed them and made her own selections to serve on the Committee.    So the Committee was NOT SELECTED by the House and is not a bi-partisan Committee. - it is a Pelosi and Biden Committee and is involved in a witch hunt against Trump.   

After the November House elections the Republicans will take over the majority in the House and scrap political propaganda actions of the Democrats normally based on no proof whatsoever and some Democrats and their fellow crooks in the Republican Party will be lucky to stay out of jail for bribery and corruption.   Biden, Pelosi, Schiff, Harris and Schumer - who encouraged the murder of Supreme Court Judge Kavanaugh  - are some of those.   They really are filth of the worst order.

Trump’s own team contested election lies

As Trump carried on his lies that victory was stolen from him, his own administration and allies agreed the election was legitimate.

Former attorney general William Barr testified that he expressed Trump’s claims of a stolen election were “bullshit”. A Trump campaign lawyer told Mark Meadows in November “there’s no there there” to support Trump’s claims of widespread voter fraud. Even Ivanka Trump, the president’s daughter, said she was convinced by Barr that the election was legitimate.

If a "former" president in any country says that there has been election fraud without proof, some dumb people will believe it.

So the Democratic Party politicians involved in the Russian Hoax was not a real attempted coup - pathetic since it was based on lies concocted by the Democrats themselves.   There are still election fraud cases going  to court and there are already hundreds convicted of  election fraud - so they have  reason to believe that the elections in key states were fraudulent.

There were 23 charges of election fraud based on irregular voting processes laid by Trump in various courts and of those 14  cases was decided upon in his favor  - the rest was not decided on.   Problem was the outcomes were ignored and the irregular votes were counted.    Once the House is taken over by the Republicans the cases will e re-examined by a bi-partisan Committee - with the Democrats refusing to take part because they were involved in fraudulent elections by discarding the election laws of the various States  and ignoring court orders.    

Now lets have a real example.   On the voters roll for Wisconsion there were just over 150 000 voters that were registered as voters in 1918 and of those  95% voted.   If registered in 1918 the voters would have been borne in 1897 or earlier.    So how did they manage to vote since they must be dead by now.  They should ask the Democrats how that happened.    The shocking thing is that "these voters"   voted by mail-in ballots counted without any identification ever.   Wisconsin for the past 50 years were the most Democratic Party state in the USA - they only voted three times for the Republican Party candidates - twice for Reagan and once for Trump.    The ancient voters role was always used and the votes somehow counted as real. 

In California in 2017 there was a court ruling that about 5,8 million voters were on the State voters roles who are missing or dead an these votes have to be removed from the role.   So the Democratic Party controlled California House passed a State law that makes it impossible to remove voters from the role and ignore the Court Order.     Those 5,8 million voters casted ballots for decades now and that in California was made possible through an election law that allows for voting without identification and for vote-harvesting.   You may not know what the latter is.   So lets explain it briefly.  In States that allow for harvesting party agents has 14 days after the election date to determine who has not voted  and collect "votes" from them.and those votes are then counted as real "votes".

 So lets get to the bottom of it.   In opinion polls 81% of all voters think that registration of votes should be done with real officially accepted ID's and confirmation of their addresses and when voting should produce  ID's to proof the vote was regular. yet the Biden Administration tried to force through  legislation based on the California law.    Thus far it flopped since too many people regard it as  a measure to entrench election fraud in the system.    In another opinion poll  61% of the  respondents believe there were fraud committed in the 2020 election.  These polls were not done by the Republican Party - it was done by the normal  institutions involved in polls - so more voters in the USA believe the election in 2020 have elements of voter fraud than there are people who believe there were no voter fraud.    The problem is that kind of info is hidden by the fake media  who support the Democrats all out and people like you would not know what the real situation is.    

There is ample proof of election fraud in 2020  and many of those have been video taped and are based on fact.     In many cases the fraudsters have been sentenced to jail time and  many are still to be sentenced.    The Court processes take time - especially when State Governments undermine such cases.    In the end the accused started to squeal  that they worked for the Democratic Party and they acted on Party instructions - but that is no reason for them being found guilty and they are the real sufferers in those cases.   

Election fraud in the USA goes back to 1948 and has been developed into a fine art by the  Democrats.    Lets add some real info = why did Reagan win the 1980 election and Trump the 2016 election?     All the opinion polls indicated that Carter would win easily in 1980 and Clinton in 2016.       Under the circumstances systematic fraud was not regarded a necessary.

When documents found in other countries confirmed the authenticity of the Hunter Biden laptop - the media at last said something about the fact that the laptop  was authentic and not Russian disinformation.    However, the FBI is refusing to act on the lap top because it involves Biden being involved in bribery and corruption.    That is why you have the wrong photo  above - Biden will not go to jail - he would be sent to an institution caring for the mentally defective  elderly suffering from dementia.
