I cannot say that the situation in the USA is not ptoblmatic. There are issues re;ating to husing and other economic factors that esecial;ly affect the middle class, the wrkersing class and the poor. In some respects the situjation was without more than 7 million migrants were critical already. There were after t hje covid p[andemic a stituation that there were inflation and at present there are fooad iad projects where 49 million poeple are food deficient and provided wioth food by foodbanks. There are housing shortages that left over 300 000 people living in cities on sidewalks. and housing costs were worsened by ising.
Most cties like Chicago, New York, San Francisco and Las Vegas had serious probv,ms laready. when the issue of over 7 million people entered the USA> In cities where the situation as described wa indeed roblematic due to the crcusmatnces mentioned and law ad order ere difficult the entry fo 7+ million people entered the county over a hee year periosd the situation got under major stress.
Fir the wealthy and even middxle class people the solution was easy - you leave the ctoes mentioned and movoved to othr states.- for the rest of the population it is not. They face rising crime situation particularly caused by lawlessness In new York the situation would progressivcely get worse, About three months ago the migrant situation was that there were already more than 100 000 migrants in New York with the average arrivvals of 10 000 per month/ That has forced the mayor of New York to cut the budget for police and edicational services to allow for paying for accommodation and food - as well as medical costs arring in Ney York in a penniless situation. They get assistace beyond the level of the poor in that city
The open Border idology sounds good to some people - but th e practical sityuation affects virtually everybody else, If th cannot cater for the situation how are theyc =going to cate for a migrant population that soon will reaqch 200 000 people.
The influx of drugs like fentanyl through the open Border situation is killing ove 100 000 people. Anoth er worrying factorfor peciaqlly the workig class people is that thee ae not enough jobs for th em already -how are that giubg with 200 000 people looking for jobs.
The Reublican Houe wnated the border closed and most migrants refise entry. - the biden Administration refise to even consider that.. Biden wants more money from Congress to be allocated to cities to cater for the influx. The Republcians refise to do that and insisted that Bide signed a law that would effctively meant that people will be send bacl to theor countries of origin. the Republicans refused to supprt that and npw coupled the fiunding of the ukraine Government be subject to cklsoing of the order tos top migrants.. so the situation is deadlocked.
So th esituation to my mind the border should be closed and only a limited number of refigees from dictatoriaql Govenmnts should be considered to enter the USA. I think both sides are digging their heels in. and cannot see a solution to the border situation.
I can fcoesee that he problems would have nasty complications for the Democarts. Biden for isnatnce got 63% of the votes in New York state. In the recent governor election he Dem candidate got 52% of the vots cast. In the 2022 election the Demcorats ;ost 4 House sets in th House elections. Those inmdications are that Biden will lose in New York State.
In any event I do not think anybody realy has a way out of the problem .- but the preent situation is unsusstainable. I wrote fesewhere that UI do not think what is done by children smuggled i to USA is totally unacceptable. .
