Surely sending kids back to school in the middle of a pandemic is a health risk.
While most young kids will be safe from COVID, they can still transmit the virus. The more infected people, the higher the R rate- and a higher % of vulnerable people are going to get the virus - including parents, grandparents and teachers.
The model for dealing with Coronavirus has been proven in countries that have managed it better. Flatten the curve and once it declines for a few weeks and the R rate is below 1.0 - then introduce a tiered lockdown. Keep the r -rate below 1.0, and then when a specific local areas go above this - apply more restrictive lockdowns in this city.
If a city has more Covidiots, then they are going to have more restrictive lockdowns. The higher the R rate, the faster the virus spreads. So the only way to manage it is to keep it below 1.0
Therapeutic treatments have improved since April significantly resulting in much lower death rates. The vaccines are imminent, so it is best to keep lockdowns based managing R rate for the short term.
So "science" has been proven correct. Fauci's recommendations were clear, and why he says Europe have done better. Trump knows he has buggered up, but he has to carry on down the path that he is now on.
The herd immunity is a myth as most "or all known" Coronaviruses do not have a lifetime vaccine, and it may become an annual jab like the flue.
The antibodies do not appear to last for the long term (whether by the natural remedy of the body killing the antivirus - or vaccine).
The virus causes other health damages- not just death.
Additionally, the r-rate would become so high by going down the route of herd immunity. Places like Sweden might not have formally had lockdowns but the people have voluntary applied social distancing.
However, for whatever reason, it just seems that it has spread in the US more than most other countries .
Trump knows he has acted against science, and this has caused trillions and trillions more damage to the economy with more lives lost, than if he has chosen the path recommended by "science". Trump was too worried about the economy in an election year.

Nothing new to add Arthur Martha John? Just some generalisations about an opinion contrary to your master.
Canada has done well

I am talking about sending kids back to school. Forget about the political side for a moment. The US is in the worst possible position to send kids back to school, given how widely spread the virus is.
