Thinking people should refrain to respond to idiocy - but it is time or a bit of a history lecture for SB who should make sure he does not make an arsehole of himself repeatedly.

First of all Michigan was NOT one of the Confederate States - so confederate rednecks they could never be.   Before the Civil War all the menial work in the north was done by White Labourers who became the backbone of the Unions and  the Democratic Party,   In the Civil War the North Brought in tens of thousands of European menials to serve in the Northern army and after the Civil War more than 10 million migrants went through Ellis Island and became the bulk of the northerm state populations.

In the Southern States before 1860 the people other than the slaves was higher educated than the northerners and the southern army was NOT made up of rednecks as you call them - the rednecks were all in the Northern Army.

Over the next century the educational levels in the USA improved and in Michigan the Labiour Unions cause a shift of the workers to the Democrats,  Michigan never voted Republican for the last 50 years - other than for Reagan (1980 and 1984) and the elder Bush (1988).  Other than that they voted for the Democrats.  In 2008 Obama won by a margin of  17,5% and in 2012 by a margin of 10% - in  other words a reliable Democratic state.

Trump won the State in 2016 and there were certain reasons for it.  

*    The conditions of life and real income of workers declined by 10% over the last 30 years.

*     The workers lost tens of thousands of jobs and became totally impoverished - the conditions got worse under both the Republican and Democratic administrations snce Reagan.

*      The Obama Administration signed trade deals which resulted in export of  work and loss of ten thousands of  jobs and the people lost hope for any improvement.

However there was other problems for the Democrats in the suburbs as well - 52% of the University graduates also voted for Trump.  Are those voters also rednecks? 

It is total idiocy that come up with threads like this.   Factory workers make you being able to live,  We know that the snobs on the crazy Democratic Party calls them "deplorables" and idiots like you call them rednecks - but stupidity has always been the trade mark of nobodies that became somebodies according to their own pretenses.

The DP has a huge advantage amongst union voters and voters earning less than $50 000 per year - another category where the DP has their sternest support,   Above $50 000  their was o one group and not one income group where the RP did not have the majority.

2. There are even Democrats who nowadays support Trump. At least one Democrat Congressman, an African-American Democrat Congressman even, has endorsed Trump for are-election. One Congressman Vernon Johnson. 

3. The idea of “sending in the FBI” is exactly the kind of oil that the gun lobby fired would need. That is exactly the reason why the 2nd Amendment  was put in the US constitution.
