I have had several escapes in my life but the worst one was when I got necrotising faciitis through an unclean injection of panamor by a negligent general practioner. A life threatening infection ( one in four escape death). I won't bore you with the details except I had this experience in the intensive care unit at St Augustines Hospital in Durban.

I was running a lot at that time and foolishly I ran one day with a dose of flu. I felt pain in my joints as this was exacerbated by exercising with gastric flu conditions. A local doctor was was called and he gave me a Panamor (similar to Voltaran) injection. The doctor had only 3 fingers on his right hand and I think that either he failed to clean the spot of insertion or missed it and infected me in my upper left quandrant with a type of ecoli (necrotising faciitis virus). I few hours later I was in agony and lay in bed for several days until it got so bad that I couldn't walk. I was admitted to the hospital and they did an emergency fasciectomy on my upper leg. There was a lot of pus and the orthopod David Shein scrapped it and cut away the infected area and dosed it with Betadine. A sample was sent to the pathologists but they could not diagnose it. The infection continued to eat away at the muscle tissue and I subjected to 4 general anaesthetics and cleaning for 4 days..cutting away etc. David Shein (now in Bronx Hospital in New York) took risks with me because I refused an amputation...I told him him I would sue him if he cut off my leg...he said then that I was going to die...I said too bad...I'm an outdoorsman and cannot live with one leg. David said then (he is Jewish) I hope you have a strong faith in God. He also did some homework research with the pathologist who had heard of a new antibiotic called Ciprobay...it was not in SA at that time. It was airfreighted from Germany and it stopped the infection from spreading.

David Shein saved my life but overall it was a miracle of God.

Redneck I got hundreds of friends allover the world and a wonderful relationships with a close family...you obviously don't know me you very stupid insulting man...you obviously have hatred as a problem...even so I don't hate you but wish you well. You are a very sick bastard.

David Shein was special...a bold risk taking innovative doctor...now well known and respected in USA...a lesser doctor...I would be history. Was it just coincidence, no I cannot except that...such doctors are like hen's teeth and don't exist in SA today. I give the glory to God...he was just an instrument in God's hand.

Apparently, he was attacked by dog and the dog bit his fingers off...I don't know if that's true but he had a fear of dogs...I had 2 German Shepherds at that time and I remember him asking my-wife

I was also outside at one stage in my life and understand sceptics and unbelief.

I've also had a few amazing experiences with God over the years. Things that will remain with me till my death.

So saffex's estimation of science all depends on whether science agrees with his typically whacked out views!

There are of course millions of testimonies of miracles through the ages and millions of out of body experience and of people coming back after being declared medically dead.
