Demo-2 launch of Falcon 9 carrying Dragon Crew happening not too long from now.

They're set to doc with ISS and this flight signals the return of USA to space flight.

Let's hope for a safe flight.

...and no alien intervention ;)

I saw that on SpaceX Twitter feed.

“Standing down from launch today due to unfavorable weather in the flight path. Our next launch opportunity is Saturday, May 30 at 3:22 p.m. EDT, or 19:22 UTC”

Haha geez, how long were they in there for? I hope those seats are comfy .

My partner made a good point.

She said the one guy was wearing glasses inside his helmet and what if they came off during launch? It's not like he can put them back on.

I'm quite surprised any Trumpanzees like Elon Musk given that he's a socialist, an atheist, supports the notion of a Universal Basic Income and has made it one of his life missions to reduce global warming.
Sounds like the very definition of Baboon-ou's "globalist scumbag" but let's hear the Trumpanzees spin on this.

I think I was last in primary school when I last heard the phrase "spin on this" . . . so no surprise I'm hearing it again from someone as juvenile as Plumchum.

Plumchum, before I respond, write me a thousand word essay on cacti so I know if it's worth discussing further . . . or else just run away.

PS Hey, you know, arguing like a Trumpanzee is fun . . . and a lot easier than debating like a normal person. I might try this more often . . . especially when dealing with Trumpanzees!
PPS Think I might use this pic instead . . . it's my mental image of DumbAss as a child . . .

Perfect launch.

Almost anticlimactic in how smooth it went.

A mazing to see how quickly they leave the atmosphere.

First stage rocket landed perfectly too.

Great job so far.

18 hours to doc with the ISS.

I follow Doug Wheelock on Twitter. He is an astronaut who spent some time on the ISS. He used to tweet the most amazing pictures while he was up there.

This was over Cleveland on 31 July 2010.

Crazy to think that there is so little gravity just 400km from wherever you are right now.

@Plum.

TBH, I never really paid much attention to Elon Musk until this launch. To me, he was always the wacko guy from Tesla who, Tesla, themselves, are always trying to kick out of the organisation.

I never realised that the Tesla car manufacturing is just  a small part of what he is actually busy with. I did know, though, that the solar panel thing was also a major part of his ventures.

For some reason, I did not even pay any attention to his space stuff, until now.

I did not even know about Spacelink. I saw quite a bit about it but never really paid too much attention to it until I started checking out Musk's space stuff, so to speak. I always reckoned that I will have a look at Spacelink at some stage because I thought it was just some idea that was still many years away.

And then I discovered that it is planned to be going operational in 2020 with wider expanded global as early as 2021.

That's what I'm saying Cera. The guy is really something else!!

Spacelink is gonna be a game-changer. Cutting global latency in half while providing great speed. Nobody can compete with that.

If he keeps going, we might be looking at the most influential person in history. I have every confidence that he'll put a man on Mars too. Which alone puts him in the reckoning.

How he keeps a handle on all the technology is really impressive. EG They wrote Tesla's self-driving software from the ground up, in-house. That's just one of many critical aspects in one business that he running.

What is also worth noting is that once he has a global network(StarLink) that is better than anyone else's, he could provide platforms that ultimately replace Google. The real-time data those satellites will provide is gonna open up a new market. How long before we hear Google complain about Elon's monopoly? The irony.

Trust ou Rooies to confuse communication and globalism.

What has the expansion of the internet to do with a political system of breaking down borders and creating a new world order where an unelected few rule everybody without any recourse.

Just need to point out here that only paranoid, right-wing conspiracy theorists define globalism in those terms. Most normal people think it's a positive concept that would make the world a better place.

Yes, like communism . . . except it'll hopefully be the principles of communism applied by the global community rather than just a select few who become corrupted by the power they wield . . . as has happened with communism in the past.

Hahahahaha. I always knew it. My English is waaaay way better than your Afrikaans.

Daardie sinnetjie van jou maak hoegenaamd geen sin nie, jou fokken onnosel idioot.

You would have made much less of a fool of yourself if you rather came up with another of your lame comebacks in English. If you're as shit in Afrikaans as you are it's better to stay away from Die Taal, rather than trying to make a stand by using Google Translate.

Although, I don't even think that Google Translate would come up with such a shit translation.

Communism removes incentive and drive...it's the equivalent of feeding baboons in a nature reserve...and it absolutely kills healthy competition...

Globalism...? Shiny ideals, t he NWO propagandists have certainly not been exemplary of  goodwill. More like warmongering and chaos.

5G internet and faster techniques will have lots of economic benefits globally. Whoever is selling the tech is going to influencing economics and politics.

So how did you get to the assumption that people talking about globalism are referring to Communism?

If Bill Gates spoke about it, it would be communist or worse - the mark of the Beast. Yet fine with Elon.

Dit sal my geensins verbaas nie. Aan die anderkant sal ons nooit weet nie, want jy het absoluut geen integriteit van enige aard nie en sal nooit die moed hê om te erken dat jy so laag gedaal het nie.
