A little tale from 2020 South Africa.

A bit detailed but i had to share.

The Department of Energy approached that gas sector to ask us if we could double our capacity over five years. The idea is/was to lighten the load on Eskom while reducing carbon footprint through minimising cooking with electric stoves. Brazil did this brilliantly with a current LPG penetration to market of 97%. Up from 10% less than twenty years ago.

Having been given less than a week to chuck together a presentation, the result was as follows...

From us...

We could double capacity well within the required timeframe - 4% penetration up to 8%.

We require no financial assistance from the government.

We requested only stricter oversight and enforcement of by-laws by police and the labour department. Illegal operations being a financial and safety burden on the industry.  

From the minister of energy...

Sat through the entire presentation without asking a single question.

Stood up the end and said...The gas industry needs to grow up and stop being crybabies. The government will not assist in any way, shape or form. "If the gas industry does achieve the proposed growth I will personally see to it that it is destroyed."

On a side note. He complained that too much LPG was being imported. Claiming it's unacceptable and robbing locals of profit. 

The hilarious thing is that LPG comes from petroleum plants and is a by-product of petrol production. Every last drop of LPG produced in SA is used in SA but it doesn't satisfy current demand. Even at a relatively low current penetration to market. Importation is the only means to satisfy present demand...nevermind when demand doubles. 

Two firms have recently built two separate docs to pump LPG from ships to overland freight cylinders. One is in Richard's Bay and another further south. Building ten of these docs is more cost-effective than building a single petrol plant. This is before the requisite labour force is even considered. One would think the genius ANC barnyard animal would be aware of this. Apparently not.

So our "minister" of energy requires that unfunded bodies build petroleum plants...fucking petroleum plants??????!!!!!! 

...or be destroyed.

And yes, the parasite arrived in a Range Rover. 

One wonedrs if his secretary informed him that the moment he walked out the entire room burst into laughter. 

Ever heard the term "Donker Afrika"?

Well if you live in RSA today you might actually understand what that term is.

Unfortunately for all.

I think I've lost all respect and hope for anyone in government trying to do the right thing. Big business should start withholding tax.

The book animal farm sums up African politics and the application of far-left communist ideals.

It is a farm with mammals run by humans, but there is unhappiness from everyone else. The humans represent the capitalists. The farm revolts against humans and capitalism with a shared goal of equality, and then eventually throw the humans off the farm. 

At the beginning getting rid of capitalists with all the ideals of equality, things are great. Then slowly a hierarchy forms as the pigs are the smartest. The rules become less consistent with more and more favouritism towards pigs. Soon another hierarchy of animals from smartest to dumbest forms, and there are conflict and inequality amongst them, not just with the pigs. 

Eventually, conditions for the average person become worse than during capitalism. Laws have since changed drastically and equality is less than when the humans were running the farm. 

The corruption, incompetence and nepotism rot society, and eventually, everything falls apart. The top of the party communists (pigs) then has no option but to pay the capitalists to do all the work.  (Think Zimbabwe and the white farmers...).  

In the end, the pigs and humans are in the house while all the other animals are outside on the cold.

I never read the book, but believe there is a sentence from  the book to the affect that -

"All animals are equal - but some animals are more equal than others."

In the USSR there was a bigger income gap between what the Communist leadership earn and the ordinary workers earn then there was in South Africa.

When Communism fell in Russia the KGB formed what is called the Russian Mafia and their leadership became billionaires very quickly as a result.

That's true, but what's also true is that the people of Europe, America and the UK were the ones who insisted that South Africa should be given over to be controlled by the Gluttonous Porkers....You lot are next.

Yes Draad, Apartheid was very fashionable for the liberalists back in the day. Being an anti-apartheid activist meant you were a good person.  It would have been a great topic for Twitter liberals if it had been available back then. 

The countries that applied sanctions were happy to buy primary assets from SA (E.g. Gold, Diamonds) while cripping the secondary and tertiary development opportunities in the international market. This prevented SA from becoming an economy of say England. 

SA could have become another America or Australia and expanded upwards into Africa. The problem was that the native people were the majority - unlike in the US or Australia where the European settlers were the majority before allowing votes for all. 

By the way what were used in Africa for lighting before candles?  Well it was electricity,

This country were raped and pillaged by the 1%ers after Apartheid.  Apartheid was used by that very same people to exploit the resources...the same lot was responsible for the Anglo Boer War...the Gluttonous Pigs...I won't be surprised if they were the ones who invented Apartheid in the first place...their leading henchman was a big racist after all.

There are indeed many windfarms in SA already and there would have been more if the Zuma Government did not refuse to grant licenses for more,   Eskom was their cash cow and clean electricity would have impacted on that cash cow.    You could only get licenses for such developments if you are in on dirty deals.   

However, many new licenses held up for years has recently been approved and development of the biggest windfarm project in the Southern Hemisphere is commencing with construction activities next week.   It is indeed in the Western Cape.           

The worst creature in Africa is the African. It destroys as far as it goes. It knows nothing else.

Apartheid may have been despised by the world  ... but it worked. This was a prosperous country during that time ... capable of standing eye to eye with the best in the world.

Enforced sterilization at birth would have solved our problem ... instead, they were allowed to breed like flies.

Talk about dropping the ball at the try line.

One has to ask, how much longer can it continue...… it really is getting to that point now....

Eskom, SAA, Telkom...…. to name just a few ….. all a complete and utter embarrassment to the country..... how about something like only 7% - 13% of our local municipalities nationwide..... are profitable...…

How about some companies having to go to court, to fight to pay Eskom directly and not go through their municipalities, just to stay open.... because their municipalities are so far behind in debt.

Infrastructure in the toilet..... no maintenance or preventative work done to ensure less downtime ……whether it be water, sewerage, electricity...……..

Droughts going on for months...… all over the country...….but major and massive water bursts or leaks are  left to run for more than 3 weeks at a time......

Now they talk about a possible vat increase to 16%...…

How much longer can the small portion of South Africans subsidize the rest of the country with paying vat...…
