….as the best car they have ever driven. I concur. Revving to 9000 revs with a brilliant paddle shifter and all sorts of trick chassis refinements, it’s not the fastest Ferrari but the one that delivers the most sheer joy. And to fully experience all the sounds the Aperta, the open version, is the one…preferably in yellow.
Evo magazine has just voted the Ferrari Speciale….
Not bad., but I'm more of a bakkie person.
Nice color , cool tires….poor drag coefficient.
"….poor drag coefficient." Life's too short to always be in a hurry.
If I want speed, I'll get one of these...a sports car isn't practical for me...the pedals are too close together for my big boots.
I rode bikes until I was about 55, never crashed. Then some smart kid in a BMW cut right in front of me from my blindspot….I swerved to avoid contact. We were in the fast lane and there was a solid concrete barrier between north and south traffic. I had to correct the swerve before hitting the barrier and only just pulled it off. If I hit the barrier I’d have flown off the bike into the oncoming traffic.
I called it quits right there….but bikes are the ultimate thrill. I liked the Suzuki GSXRs ….that looks like a 750.
Not into new fast cars but Vintage cars are my fancy.
But saying that does not mean that I cannot appreciate the upscale cars and the technology that goes with the "Bling".
Really amazing what these car makers come up.
1962 RED Ford Mustang (Stick) convert. was a car I had up to 1987 and sold to a friend prior to leaving RSA.
Power, comfort and excellent road holding combined with the SA sun made it a pleasure to drive down the South Coast from Durbs or up the North Coast to Stanger and then head through Thring's Post to Greytown, Piertermaritzburg and back home.
The wife always looked forward to the drives, music and of course the speed.
Man those were the days.
Forever gone but still fresh in my mind.
South African roads were/are fantastic. My first car was a Beetle. Getting that thing up those long hills around Caledon required max speed on the downhill segment. Lots of fun!
