Lets start off wit h th e fact that this is N OT a government funded project and the Govnment is not invovled wit h the actual development project. It is common through out thw world support such development projects of such a huge scale - but the Government does not won the project. Whayt youj are claimg is that Trump supported a private sector development - so he si responsible for the failure or on the oither hand promoted a project that was bound to fail. So what you come up here is total BS propaganda.
Lets lookat what happens in fact constantly in local , provincial and central Government level, since you must be the stupid ever about development projects, In the case of any development must be submitted that deals with the objectives to be achievement - a development plan to be undertaken and the objective achievements and result - but the most importance specifically ts the fact that it must have an evaluation of funding needs for the project. Based on scuientific and professional evaluation the banks wikll themn what t hey would fund.
A major development is not always completed to th e scale envisaged orginally and the BS spreding is clear from the article. Only a part of the Project has been completed and th e number of jobs created was reduced.
When type of project is envisaged aaand was properly planned it is common that policial leaders romote the rpokject and that is all that ahppewmned here.
So you are up to your normal BS spreading . Trump emtoned an approvved project and promoted it - but he was not responsible for implmentinmg it and no taxpayer funding was invovled, .
So lets look at capital expenditure on capital wrorks by the present Government, The careful analysis of the situation is that the American Government approve the allocation of funding of $1,9 billion for caotal rojects funded by the Government as well as the allocation of contracts. After six months the Contractor claimed he cannot complete the project unless the Government provide more funding, It happened in the case of almost all contracts allocated after the famous infrastructure projects in the $1,9 billion allocated for infrastructure projects
That in fact is how fraudlent practices flourished. I have experience of what actually happned in those cases running into Billions of Rand. When infrastructure upgrade is necessary a tender containing what is to be spent by the Municipality on upgarding.of associated infrastructure the full business plan became aprt of the tender. When the tenders come in I attended amny meetings of the tender adviosors and consultants. In the evaluation we normally cut out inflated contracts and refused supporting acceptance of inflated tenders, In some cases the evaualation committee would be negotiating a lower price for the project and the tenderers would eaccept that.
However, that seems to have gone out of the window when it comes to the present situation in both the USA and in SA. The difference is that tight financial amanagement prevent bribery and corruptio and in America and SA it is rife.
As an example the US Auditor General found that $5,4 billion of Covid funds for aiid to businesses were spent fraudulently vanishing into this air and called for action. So far a few cases in Minnesota was laid - but for the bulk nothing was done.
If you are looking for a scandal - find something real - maladminsitration, corruption and fruitless expenditure is the norm resulting from the present regime.
Where did you get that article from anyway?
