But yes, the French played a stupid game and never adjusted to what the Boks were doing. After getting ball behind us early in the game they sank into an 80's style throw-it-wide-without-earning-it running rugby, which in terms of how the Bok defense operates is like throwing stones at a castle door instead of hitting it with a battering ram. I said at the time there didn't seem to be any leadership either on the field or next to it, the French just kept tripping over their own feet and no one seemed to try and settle things down.

I agree with Pakie, the French played a stupid game tactically. But still they were within a makeable Ramos penalty of winning the game. Beat a stupid team by a point…gotta be genius.
