But I guess this can be safely ignored if you're anti-Trump. The virus and subsequent lockdowns of course had no significant impact on unemployment.

There never was a growth rate of 4% per year under Obama.  Even A BC quoted the growth rate of at 1.8%  in the last two years of Obama  mismanagement and downright looting.   There were tens of thousands who lost their jobs Obama exported to China and Mexico and that caused the loss of Clinton.  Those are facts and not fiction.

The workers look at their own situation and keeping the economy closed in states with Democratic Governors aimed at further job losses.  

You can hope that the Democrats take over in the USA  and a few days later China would take over the Government of NZ as well.   Nobody is going to help you and Australia in that case,

The Trump factor cumulative 1.6% of incremental growth over the forecast....multiplied by  20 Trillion dollars equals $320 Billion a year. NPV would be about $3.2 Trillion....the whole cost of the Corona virus relief.

If you put up the Obama chart over his last 4 years, it looks there has been a decline since Trumps first year. 

Year 1 = 2.75 GDP

Year 2 = 2.50 GDP

Year 3 = 2.25 GDP

Obama's last 4 years were better than that, with higher average GDP. There was also increases in GDP some years, unlike under Trump- (not even considering Corona). 

Trump is like Alister Coetzee inheriting a good Stormers team from Rassie. Obama inherited the 2009 recession and turned it around. It was already the best economy ever in 2015- before Trump took it over.

I am descended from Eva of the Goringhiakona  and her husband a ship doctor from Denmark who ended up owning his own ship.   His main occupation was slavetrading, but he never operated in the slave trade to the Americans,  He basically operated in the Indian ocean and was killed on a slave trade mission to Madagaskar.  Eva and he had a daughter Pieternella Meerhof - who married my first Dutch ancestor in SA .   The family were farmers.

Just a question - if there was that growth rate then where did the money go?   Why did it not benefit the working class in the USA? Why in the last 20 years before 2016 did the standard of living of workers decline by 10%?

In that 20 year period nothing was done in upgrading infrastructure and  the arms of the USA army was not attended to,
