Gone on the 4th of July
I think that the Conservative Party as gone to faar to the left in their policies and the UK is on the way down - bu what would the Labor Party do to save the nation from self-destruction. I am afraid nothing. Too many illegal migrants and especially Muslims have flooded in and they wieldd the real power in England.
When a Policeman was asked why they doi not control and prevent violence in a London protest the answer was "There are too amny of them",
South London will soon bcome North Mecca.
I think that the Conservative Party as gone to faar to the left in their policies
Mike please, you actually made me laugh so hard you almost killed me.
Open Border policies of one and an ecoinomic diasater stemming from the Ukraine war is doing real damage in respect of inflation. The Conservative Party leadership said yes to everything and end up witjh no say in future. The UK culture is destroyed systematically by the leftist approach of the present Government. I would not be surprised if the Uk falls appart into four mini- countries,. Countries with weaklings as politicians have no future - the USA and UK are two exact examples of that.
When is the next election in Ireland - I think from what I read that the present Government si extremely unpopular and one will have to wa it and see what happens.
When is the next election in Ireland - I think from what I read that the present Government si extremely unpopular and one ill ahve to wait and see what happens.
Next year.
You have read wrong.
The present government in Ireland is a 3 party coalition, between Fine Gael (centre right) Fianna Fá il (centre left) and the Green Party (left)
According to the latest polling on support levels, Fine Gael is up 4% to 23%, Fianna Fáil has remained on 20% and the Greens are down 1% to 4%.
Sinn Féin (left wing) is the main opposition party is down 5% to 23%.
Then you have Labour (left) up 1% to 5%, the Social Democrats (left) down 1% to 3%, People before Profit (left) staying on 2%, Anotú (right) 1% and the Independent Ireland (right) on 0%.
Then you have Independent candidates who are polling very well and when combined their support level is at 17%.
Long and the short of it, is the governments overall support level has actually gone up, and the main opposition is down and this is actually to do with Sinn Féin's immigration policies being considered a mess. Based on the above numbers if there was an election now, the present government would have a decent chance of being returned to power though they might need the assistance of another smaller party or a few independents.
Thanks for the info Stav. All the EU couintries Governments are on shaky ground after the center-left Governments lost elecions in Italy, Austria, Sweden, the Netherlandxs and Slovakia. Poland at present has a very weak coalition Government with the Party of Tusk moving from center left to center right to keep their alliance partners happy.
The German cioalition Parties are accoding to accrding of opinion polls own the down to 31% support with the Free Democrats lost so much suppor from 1 to just about %, I left them out since if they dip below 5% they ill have no members in the Reichstag.
That present Germany with a problem - the second biggest party in Grmany now are the AfD - which the emdia accuse of being ultra-right. They are no more rightwing than th e CSU wing in Bavaria is. So if the present level of support is maintained who will be part of the new Coalition Govenment. I think it would b th e CD U and the AfD - that could be exrtremely detrimental to the EU.
I think the EU election next month will indicate what is happening in the EUcountries.

I agree with you about the Conservatives - but who is the tall guy looking somewhat like a movie star.
I suppos you are going to vote for the Greens or Lib-Dems - but then the more left for you the better so there is always the Communist Party branch of Labor to vote for.
Vok, he'd love to be described as tall.
Here are the exit poll predictions.
Hahaha….funny Blob.
Of course Anger, all the problems would be solved if the Tories disappeared. The HasBeen of the left.
Lib Dems ! Good God !
Yes, we clearly want a two-Party state.
How about a one party state…..Anger dislikes diversity of thought.
Well, to be honest, with Labour and their Socialism, we’re well on the way there !
But you’d be happy….school teachers like Anger and union bosses would make all the decisions.
I'm more worried about the French.
Oh yes, our re-education would ensure we were happy living in such times.
Why are you worried about the French, Blob ?
I am perfcectly happy about the incompetent Coservative lot lost the election - they were obviously as bad as Biden was in the USA and the 4 Conservativce PM's since the previous ekection showed that they became cluelesss about their policies and became a sterlerss ship floating around in the open sea - dcangerous and useless,
S p Biden in four yearfs from being idiotic to be a destgructgive diusasaterf in the past th rfee years, So Labor defeated the CP because th ey went brain-defioent - Bidxen will be defeated since his brain stopped functioning
I do believe that -
* the Conservatives need to find out what they stand for and get rid of weak leedadxership theys uffe from; and
* The Democratic Party accept that the ultra-leftists are divisive and not sustainable as they disregard the centrists and center-leftist = so I forsee the Party will split into 2 partiesa, , .
I hate a ‘sterlerss ship’….damn after all these centuries can’t they get that one thing right?
I'm more worried about the "destgructgive diusasaterf". Sounds like an unfortunate illness of the loins. That would require some lotion. To be rubbed in regularly. Gently. Soothing and exciting, tingling the senses, spreading warmth in the winter cold to the sensitive...erm, what was I talking about again?
Of course Anger, all the problems would be solved if the Tories disappeared. The HasBeen of the left.
Emm where did I say that?
How about a one party state…..Anger dislikes diversity of thought.
Ah so all the other political parties in the UK beside the Tories are the the exact same as Labour. Got it.
What's with all the disingenuous statements?
But you’d be happy….school teachers like Anger and union bosses would make all the decisions.
No he won't be happy be no matter what they do good or bad.
Anyways back to reality for a moment.
I've been critical of the UK's first past the post system in the past and I remain so here.
Labour with something like 33.8% of the vote share get around 61% of the seats in parliament.
Conversative got 23.7% of the vote share will get just under 20% of the seats.
Lib Dems got 12.2% of the vote share and around 10% of the seats.
While Reform got 14.3% of the vote and ended up with less than 1% of the seats in parliament.
They need to move to a system like Proportional Representation that allocates seats in a way that more accurately represents vote share. It would be fairer on smaller parties and prevent massive majorities like we are seeing now that are not representative of what the people voted for. Labour should be the largest party in the UK parliament, but with under 34% of the vote they should not have more seats than every other party combined.
