Elon Musk speaking with Jensen Huang at a Saudi investment event, just opined that 20 years or so from now, work will be optional. Poverty will no longer exist. And money will no longer be needed.. There’s is no way I’m having a robot in my living space!
I would not trust any of the Billionaire Oligarchs. They may talk about the good of humanity, but they love power. If a few people own the means of production (AI), the world could take a wrong turn.
When OpenAI was first created, its goal was to prevent this from happening by making it open-source technology. Once Bill Gates got involved, everything changed as he saw an opportunity for a new monopoly. Musk even suggested making it closed-sourced before he left the company (before Microsoft funded OpenAI).
On the positive side, over time, creating AI models may become easier and easier, which could distribute power.
Have faith….all the AI centers are going to be in space powered by solar panels. oil won’t be needed. Everybody will have a Tesla, which will be self driving. You won’t have to work, everything will be free, meaning there will be no class structure anymore. Springboks will be robots and no steaks will be served, weed will be free.
