In his book exposing corruption under the Jacob Zuma Government Jacques Pauw dealt extensively with the illegal cigarette trade and identified two kingpins in the trade - Mazzotti and Edward Zuma - a son of Jacob Zuma. In the book it became clear that Mazzotti financed the election campaign in 2017 of Dr Zuma to become ANC Leader in a desperate bit to keep the looting of the country going.
So who else has been bought by Mazzotti - that paragon of dubious virtue Julius Malema - who with his family has been staying in a townhouse worth millions in Cape Town.
Now Dr Zuma turned rogue and did her best to help Mazzotti and Edward Zuma - and obviously herself. She has banned the sale of cigarettes in SA and the black market is running riot, Poor people have to pay up to R10 to buy one cigarette , while a carton of 10 packets - which in the past ranged between R200 and R350 now costs between R2000 and R4000, The profits are gigantic.
