Another person claimed a man had opened fire inside the mosque with an automatic weapon, while witness Len Peneha told AP he saw a man dressed in black enter the building before shots rang out.

Mr Peneha said he then saw the gunman flee before police arrived and that when he went inside he saw “dead people everywhere”.

Others witnesses told the New Zealand Herald they had heard more than two dozen gunshots.

Canterbury Police said on Twitter: “We have a critical incident in Deans Ave Christchurch. Please avoid the area. We will give more in the near future.”

Members of the Bangladesh cricket team were reportedly caught up in the Deans Avenue incident but not harmed.

New Zealand police commissioner Mike Bush said in a statement: “Police are responding [at] full capability to manage the situation, but the risk environment remains extremely high.

“Police recommend that residents across Christchurch remain off the streets and indoors until further notice. Christchurch schools will be locked down until further notice.”

RNZ cited Mustafa Farouk, the head of the Federation of Islamic Associations of New Zealand, as saying between 300 and 500 worshippers were likely inside the mosque at the time of the attack. He said he had been told at least six people were wounded.

“Horrified to hear of Christchurch mosque shootings. There is never a justification for that sort of hatred,” said Amy Adams, a member of parliament from the city.

As well as locking down schools, police have reportedly cleared Cathedral Square, where children were staging a climate change protest."

I always thought this type of thing does not happen in New Zealand where religious and liberal values reign supreme.

It is terrible - when I posted the above there was no news on the issue other than that the mosque attacks occurred - nothing about casualties,   I heard now that there may be 29 fatalities and that 4 people have been  arrested - 3 men and a woman.

There has been mosque attacks in SA as well - but those were traced to different sects in the Muslim religion -  ie  the Sunnis and the Shi'ites.   In one case an attack is linked to Somali ref ugees.

The fact is that the factions are the  reason for civil wars in Syria,  Yemen and  Iraq also stemmed from the various sects involved.   The Sunni's are the dominant sect in Saudi-Arabia and has been the sect from which Al Qaeda and  ISIS originated and also Al Shaahab in Somalia and Boko Haram in Nigeria and other adjacent countries/  There is a similar terrorist group operating in Mozambique as well - problem is Mozambique borders SA and the SA  State Security institution is in chaos.   Could easily wash over into SA as well,  .    .   

Wonder whether it is not the case in the attacks under discussion.

When I posted the above I did not have any evidence on who committed this dastardly crime and for what reason.   I think we will learn more in days to come - but we musta accept that  extremists on both sides of the spectrum are bad.

I could not believe that the crime could have been commited by an Aussie, - but it now seems it was.    I do not think that Aussies are particularly friendly people - at least not those I met.  when visiting Australia - the one really nice guy I met was an Aborigine guy.

Back in 2017 Swedish police told a journalist that they have so many rape cases they are dealing with that they don’t even have time to solve cases where 3 year old children were raped.

It's naive to believe we can accomodate beliefs of different persuasions and live harmoniously. The reality is quite different, people of goodwill think they can until  they are confronted with those who impose their will and beliefs on others. I am the first person to condemn the acts of the attackers in New Zealand and think their barbaric act is totally unacceptable in a decent society.

I have may Muslim friends and they are decent people  who criticize what is happening and which is used by fanatics in countries all over the world,   They would not be bale to raise their opinions in Muslim governed countries - they would be executed immediately.    

However, some of the posters who criticize the Islamic religion also have a point,   There is very  real problems with the rise of extremism in the Muslim countries and what they do in countries where they settle is a serious problem.   One cannot condone that - but we should not use that to condone what happened in Christchurch,

Islamic radicalism is not confined  to Whites or in fact all racial groups not practicing their religion in EU countries and in the USA, it is equally the case in countries governed by them  and it ahs a long history of atrocities in the 20th and 21st centuries.  Lets not forget -

*    The killing of hundreds of thousands of Armenians by the Turks  in the early 20th century;

*    The constant attacks on the Kurdish minority in Turkey, Syria, Iraq  and Iran;

*    The civil wars in Syria, Iraq, Yemen and even Libya, Nigeria and other Countries in Africa  

If one has to see what Islamic Radicals did  in counties where the settled one has to remember -

*     The New York and Washington attacks killing thousands of people in the  USA;

*      The more recent extremist attacks in Florida, California, Denver. Las Vegas and Boston in which hundreds were killed;

*      The London subway attacks in 2007;

*      The carnage in France when they attacked innocent civilians in Paris, Nice and Strasburg;

*      The Berlin attack on the Christmas market;

*       Thousands killed in Russia in terrorist attacks

There is another  problem raised above and that relates to rape - which radicals believe is to be sued to convert other religions to the Islamic faith,   They refer to Sweden but is also caused havoc in Germany (Cologne) after the mass immigration in 2015 and was extensively used in the Syrian and Iraq civil wars by ISIS and is in fact in all such civil wars.

At least 120 people have been killed by alleged Fulani militant attacks since February in the Kaduna state of Nigeria with the latest attacks on Monday resulting in the deaths of over 50 and the destruction of more than 140 homes.

CSW, a United Nations-recognized NGO that advocates for persecuted Christians worldwide, reports that victims in the attacks on Monday included women and children. Survivors told the nonprofit that the attackers were separated into three groups. One group shot and killed people, the second set fire to buildings, and a third ran after people fleeing the scene.

Nigeria ranks as the 12th worst country in the world when it comes to Christian persecution, according to Open Doors USA’s 2019 World Watch List.

In 2018 alone, thousands of Christians were killed by militant Fulani herdsmen, leaving some to say that genocide is occurring in the Middle Belt of Nigeria.

Islamic Terror Threat Made Against New Zealand Prime Minister: ‘Revenge is Coming’

An Islamic terror threat was tweeted at New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, following the livestreamed massacre at two mosques on Friday.

The threat, posted to Twitter, warned that “revenge is coming” along with a gun painted in white wording similar to the gun used by the mosque shooter. An ISIS flag was visible behind the weapons.

The tweet was sent in response to Ardern tweeting, “What has happened in Christchurch is an extraordinary act of unprecedented violence. It has no place in New Zealand. Many of those affected will be members of our migrant communities – New Zealand is their home – they are us.”

The threat was reported and archived by independent journalist Nick Monroe.

But in Muslim countries, Sharia Law does not allow Christians to hold offices in which they can exercise civil authority over Muslims. Sharia law does not allow Muslim women to hold offices in which they can exercise civil authority over Muslim men.

So Muslims have no place in America. If they choose to renounce Islam, then Arabs, Persians, Africans, Southern Asians and Turckic peoples can be accepted here.

That was a good post Plum. However, as soon as I finished reading it, I knew that it was going to be pulled apart and rubbished. One cannot help to wonder, though. 

From what I can see, the governments of the entire "Western World", among others, have condemned this attack in the strongest possible terms and they have offered NZ, and the victims, all the support possible. Even the "evil" Donald Trump. His first reaction, at the signing ceremony of his veto of the Senate decision on border security, was to pay respect to NZ, and the victims, and he said that he has told the NZ PM that he (the NZ PM) knows that he could just pick up the phone and ask for whatever help or support is needed in these times.Compare that to the response, or rather lack thereof, by the governments of Muslim countries following the numerous attacks by Muslim extremists on western civilians in recent times. The first reaction by the governments of all of these countries were to say that it was the work of extremists and that they were not all like that and that they were really a peace loving lot, blah di blah di blah. No wishes of sympathy for the victims. Nothing.

They, the Muslim countries, appear to have be so peaceful and compassionate but it is all a front, IMO. They have shown nothing but total apathy towards these kinds of incidents against western civilians. FFS, they even show that towards Muslims. The only countries who are pushed to accept Syrian refugees. Not one single Muslim country has, to date offered to take in one single Syrian refugee. Compassionate? My arse.

Note that I have not offered any condolences to the victims and that is not because I do not feel any remorse over the incident. It is just a matter of knowing that it would serve any purpose due to my expressed views surrounding this matter and I am not prepared to express remorse for the sake of appeasing others. I know that I have a deep feeling  of sympathy for the victims of this horrible attack. Whether anybody believe it or not.

This is why I say that it seems one can do nothing but pick a side.

Any compassion, mercy, love, sympathy one tries to send their way is always welcomed but it's never forthcoming from their side.

I've walked the streets of Brussels and been threatened with stabbing for simply looking in the direction of a group of Algerians to see what color a traffic light was. My girlfriend at the time was sexually assaulted by a group of Arabs on her way back from school. All refugees. Personally had numerous incidents with Muslims in various countries in including the UK, South Africa, Denmark and Malaysia. From violence to theft to pure lies for the sake of a few quid which almost cost me my job at the time.

I find it impossible to put that all down to coincidence. Especially when one looks at Muslim nations and how they behave towards their own people as well as towards other nations and their people. 

Their doctrine puts you at the bottom of the pile and gives them permission to do as they like with you. That's the great appeal of it.

It gives you a licence to behave like an animal while acting holier than though. 

Christianity calls on you to forgive and to love without exception. Judaism is not evangelical and recruitment is frowned upon. Islam is the worst of both worlds and it's no surprise that it's followers behave the way they do.

It should have been kept at arm's length but instead the morons in the liberal west thought they could teach Muslims by example. 

They still don't realise that every time you exhale Islam tightens its grip further. 

I sympathise with the many Muslims that have lost their lives in religious, oil and false flag wars over the years, despite them viewing me as spiritually inferior and worthy of murder.

Do I think their doctrine is evil? 100% I do.

Will I play their game and say...yeah the Ozzie was an extremist, we're not all like that? Sure I will.

Do I believe one needs to fight fire with fire? W hat else is there?
