Australia has a conservative government that has brains. They have done the best at isolating Covid and had the least lockdowns and economic damage.
However as Delta goes around the world, approaches that were successful before will not be in the future- without vaccine.
Once anyone who wants the vaccine is vaccinated, the plan is to return to normal.
The UK recorded 35,000 cases yesterday, but the plan is to lift the remaining lockdown measures in 9 days.

We're in a serious lockdown right now as we speak, the public have been asked not to travel more than 10km from their homes, everyone to stay indoors, no family visits, masks to be worn in public places and only one member of the family allowed to do essential shopping. People are not allowed to loiter in shopping areas and there are on the spot $1K fines for those who don't wear a mask in a public place. Things were going well until the Delta variant arrived via incoming flights from India. There is expectation of a lot more cases and the lockdown is expected to last until the end of August. Should also say that the above only applies to the state of NSW.
