When I left Rhodesia in 1975 the Rhodesian dollar was worth more than the Rand, and more pro rata to the English pound incidentally I drove from Salisbury to Cape Town with 30 Rhodesian dollars in my pocket and still had some change, sanctions don't do bugger all, I;ve travelled but never in any country have I've ever ever experienced and seen a cost of living like this, 16 cents for a beer and $ 1 Rhodesian T-Bone steak and salad for 1 Rhodie $...and that steak was better than all the steaks I've ever tasted internationally, Brangus, Cross Hereford. Rhodesia used to" email " their steaks to Hollywood and top NY restaurants in those days. We are fed so much garbage these days that we fail to swallow it.
Where are the Ian Smiths today.
