I don't follow SS.....

truth be told I haven't visited that site for a number of years but my curiosity was sparked after reading about the turmoil they're suffering.
First thing I'll say is hats off to Barlee for fessing up to his errors. He has my total respect and as far as I'm concerned there are no longer any hard feelings. We all make mistakes and he's been man enough to admit to the error of his ways.
He mentions a clique and how it brought about posters leaving......interesting how past members of that clique are now in denial. Truth be told there was a clique and they pretty much dominated the cricket section. He also made mention of a certain poster being responsible for the departure of 4 other posters, all of them having laid the blame for their departure on that same poster.
In the middle of all the vitriol is the acidic Taipan......why am I not surprised. Ed, without any prompting saw him coming and thankfully flicked him quick-smart on two occasions from this very site....that tells a story, we'll all agree our ED is a very tolerant moderator. I'll say it again and again, Taipan is nothing but trouble and the scourge of any forum. Good riddance, I don't miss him and this forum is far healthier without his presence even though his mushroom mate will disagree.
With decent posters on there like Barnacle,  Barlee, Mata Hari and Stu I'm very tempted to join SS.

That also happens to be a pet hate of mine when someone creates a new thread when one already exists..
I never posted at the Staalstraad forum but viewed it now. Is taipan/sy a women?

 I have my reasons for posting a new thread and it has nothing to do with seeking attention.

You are preaching to the converted, I do know, you forget I was part of the oppressed. 
There is a responsibility that comes with free speech and from what Barlee says it's clear to me that SS lost posters because of a certain clique who exercised their freedom by ganging up on certain individuals. Your mate Vlagman(Ceradyne) appears to be one of them according to Barlee, the owner of the site, who goes onto say he had received written  complaints explaining the reasons why posters felt compelled to leave. 

 Tai pansy is still there and I am not convinced all there have learned their lesson. 
By the way I told Barlee that there was a clique who kept ganging up on members and taking pleasure is driving them away. I said this to him more than once. Seems he has at last recognized this fact. What a great shame as it was once a huge board with enormous potential.
Windpomp was named as a culprit and was part f the clique. Windpomp though has turnned over a new leaf and is now a great poster who agrees with me!
Please oaks don't start a second thread when rooitwit has started a similar thread as it deflects attention away from rooiwtit! Hahahahahahahha

 Taipan is the death of any forum, it's not the first time I said so and it won't be the last. He is toxic. Our ED was onto him quick-smart, kicked him off twice without any prompting from anyone else. I haven't previously mentioned this but I can tell you now I felt the full force of that clique which was made up of Old (insipid) Nick, Bedpan and Bedpan's other mushroom, a guy called Dennis. I leave you to workout the 4th member of that clique.I'll probably go on there even if it's just to tell Barlee I harbor no hard feelings towards him.
