I spoke to my friend about the latest twist in the Zuma Saga

I have been a very good friend of Dr Albertina Luthuli for years    She was one of the people who introduced me to Zuma in 1995 when she, Zuma and his ex-wife (Dr Dhlamini-Zuma) and myself dined together in the Colony Restaurant in Durban.
Dr Luthuli - the daughter of Chief Albert Luthuli - made a statement on eNCA last night condemning Zuma and said he should resign - since he was disgracing the ANC.  Was not surprised by that statement coming from her.  However, it caused me to phone another friend - Riaz Meer to tell him whether he heard her statement.  He said that he did not hear her statement, but would watch the news to hear what she said.
Riaz was for many years a stalwart of the ANC - a nephew of Fatima Meer - and a lawyer.  He made an amazing statement about the issue,  He said he is so ashamed to be associated with the present ANC leadership - he  cannot look people in the eye anymore.
That seems to be a widespread feeling about many ANC members and I think Zuma is in for a rough ride over the next couple of months.  Another adverse Constitutional Court ruling about the Al-Bashir issue will cause even more damage than the present one did.  And that ruling will come after another attack of Zuma on the judiciary in SA.   Moegoeng would realize that the comments is aimed at him and the other judges in SA and will not take kindly to it.
I think that Zuma really is on the way out as the rebellion is in the ANC itself and especially in the senior publicly more respected members of the Party.   The issue here is widespread - even among the ordinary Zulus.   Philip Mhlongo - who never stopped borrowing money from me when he was working for the KwaDukuza Municipality (loans which he never repaid) is now a senior member of the EFF after he was kicked out by the ANC because of his association with the previous KwaDukuza Mayor S'duso Gumede - who was against Zuma being elected as ANC President and was kicked out of the position as a result.   
The Ilembe District Municipality was run by Mayor Welcome Ndaba one of the strongest Zuma supporters.   He bankrupted that Municipality and is now being kicked out of that position by the ANC members of that Council and it is rumoured that he will be replaced by Gumede, whose close friend Siandar Mhlongo - another previous Mayor of KwaDukuza - is now a member of Cope.  Just a few other examples of what is going on internally w ithin the ANC in Zuma's heartland KwaZulu-Natal.
