Seems an accident happened where an Iran warship was hit by a friendly missile. It was just a few months ago when their military shot down an Iranian passenger jet as it was leaving the airport.

Where did that story came from SB? You must remember that Iran is a dictatorship run by the Ayatollah and that they in fact are at war with the population on a continuous basis. I agree with you that they should not have nuclear arms - but that fake agreement signed in 2015 was no answer, They just moved the laboratories and workshops into army camps and did not allow for any inspections by international observers into any of those.
Nobody can ever trust dictators and no body should be bribed by them and then sign agreements with them on anything, They would never adhere to any agreement anyway,
