In a Wimbledon where Russian players were dubiously banned, a young girl born in Moscow who left when she wasn’t supported by Russian tennis has taken Wimbledon. Great flat ground shots and slightly steadier nerves vs her wobbly opponent saw her through.

For instance Bublik's mother is a Russian with Khazakhstan citizenship. He was borne in Russia - but did not get the support of the Russian Tennis Federation as other better players got and applied for Khazakhstan citizenship and got it within a year because of his mother's citizenship.
