From time to time I’m struck by the fact that certain experiences, images, knowledge will disappear with me. None of these are at all key to the survival of the human race, but some might be interesting to future generations
So what’s the alternative. Well obviously a robot that to the extent possible is the human. And perhaps that robot could continue to act as that human.
Personally I think it becomes a grotesque idea when it transitions from experiences to personality and reactions. But in a world where very wealthy people fantasize about living on Mars, can being immortal be next. You betcha!
