One of the Big Lies told by the media during the Obama Era was that the Left had, hands down, won the culture wars. Pointing to issues surrounding women, race and homosexuals, again and again the media crowed over this fact. Me? I was always skeptical. For example, polls might have shown that gay marriage was popular, but the issue almost always failed at the ballot box. Meanwhile, Hollywood has pretty much removed itself from the business of making issue movies, guns are more popular than ever, science is undermining the pro-abortion movement, and alternatives to our failed public schools continue to grow.
So while propaganda-polling gave the media desperately needed talking points, on the ground, out here in the real world, when it came to things like actual votes and the free market (box office, gun sales) the exact opposite proved true. Moreover, what could be more culture-driven than all things identity politics, the very thing that drives a Democrat Party which now finds its nationwide minority status in the worst shape it's been in since Republicans took away all their black slaves.
And now a new poll shows that the culture wars have so backfired on the Left, The National Journal's Josh Kraushaar writes of "the emerging Democrat minority." Among the white-working class, the numbers in this poll are staggeringly awful for Democrats, especially in key parts of the country where most of the 2018 fight for control of the House of Representatives will occur (Democrats have ZERO chance of winning back the U.S. Senate in either 2018 or 2020).
Despite all of the GOP's troubles over the last half year, among blue collar voters, the Republican Party beats Democrats 43% to 33% in what is known as the generic ballot. Disapproval of the Democrat Party sits at a breathtaking 61%, while only 32% approve. Trum*p's job approval number in these pivotal swing districts is a healthy 52%. In worse news, compared to Republicans, when it comes to improving the economy, Democrats face an incredible -35 point deficit.
There is no question that much of this collapse has to do with the Democrat Party's insane embrace of a number of insane cultural issues — allowing men to use women's bathrooms, cop-hating, gun control, the war on women, gays are always right and those who disagree are bigots, apologizing for Islam while trashing Christianity, anti-science gender issues …(LIKE OU ROOITWIT AND DENSE DENISE THEY ARE JUST ABOUT ALWAYS WRONG!)
Judging by the shape Democrats are in almost everywhere, the political collapse that some of us have been predicting for some time has finally reached critical mass. Not to pat myself on the back, because it was painfully obvious this was not sustainable, but for years Democrats have been building what I've frequently described as a Jenga Tower of coalitions — a tower of separate identity-blocks that include the working class, LGBT, blacks, Hispanics, illegal aliens, young women, environmentalists, Muslims, college graduates, urbanites, atheists, etc.
The problem with this approach is that in order to please one group you eventually have to displease or alienate another, and in a 50/50 country, the loss or removal of just one block results in total collapse.
This is exactly what happened when the working class block was removed. On top of ignoring the needs of this group for decades in favor of obscene cultural issues, Democrats also alienated blue collar Americans by embracing the illegal immigrants who steal working class jobs and depress working class wages. Democrats also embraced the environmentalists who seem to exist only to kill good blue collar jobs (coal mines, new factories, etc).
Democrats tried to appease the working class by pushing a college education, but this has only backfired. When blue collar Americans are told by Democrats that college is the answer to the loss of everything they have ever known, to their very way of life, they not only see a pile of student loan debt that offends their sensibilities, they see it as a dismissive insult to their existence.
Democrats appear to at least grasp some of what has happened to them. Just last week top Democrats unveiled an economic plan aimed at winning back the working class. But within just a few hours, in order to appease some other Jenga blocks, Democrats were right back to cultural issues, back to suggesting that it is a form of bigotry to keep people out of the military who are in the process of transitioning from one gender to another.
T HE PROBLEM IS THAT THE DEMONRATS DO NOT REPRESENT AMERICAN VALUES AND THIS IS HAPPENING INCREASINGLY AS THEY SLIDE MORE AND MORE TO THE RADICAL GLOBALIST LEFT.
