Trump now claims that the US is outperforming the rest of the world in the fight against Coronavirus.
He claims the death rate is lower in the US, and he has charts that prove this.
People say he is stupid, but he is not. He is just a manipulator of stats, a con-artist...
He obviously knows that the number of people who die and get infected - is the criteria for measuring effectiveness. People that get infected by Corona can also suffer from other long term effects, not just death. (e,g, damage to lungs or other vital organs).
The death rate (Infection rate/number of Deaths) is lower in the US than in many countries, but the reason is they have better hospitals. This has nothing to do with Trump himself.
The US is also benefiting from treatment discoveries made from around the world over the last few months (E.g. the UK). Without these medical discoveries in other countries, the US death rate would be close to half a million by now- and potentially 1 million by the end of the year.
If Trump had any human decency he would resign. He is incompetent in his role as the president. He is good at selling property and has some knowledge of economics and business- but he is way out of his depth at this stage.
His dictatorial style of leadership is also putting too much pressure on him as a single point of failure, instead of spreading out the power and responsibility.
However the alt-right love him because he is a provider of new conspiracies. They like that Rambo tough-guy style of president, like the third world presidents, such as the leader of Iran etc. A religious militant strong man. God is on his side, etc etc.
Fortunately for America, it is only about 30% of the US that are Trumpanzees.
