After coming to power with a huge majority in 1994 - the ANC support under Zuma dropped to being in the 60's and in the 1916 election the ANC did badly getting only 56% of the vote. Since then the support dropped further:-
* In the 2021 municipal elections they were down to 48% support and lost control of 3 of the Metro's they previously governed. The 2 metro's still controlled by the ANC govern through coalitions. The coalition in Durban is on life support and the one in Port Elizabeth collapsed yesterday. So of the 6 metro\s in SA 5 are now governed by the DA and their allies.
* What was interesting in the recent municipal election was that just over 8 million registered voters in fact voted. Bearing in mind the turnouts and the miniscule number of the other groups for the ANC - it was estimated that only about 4,5 million Blacks actually voted and some of them voted for other parties,
Now let's get further the support for the ANC based on a recent pill has dropped from 48% to 42% in less than a year.
