Andy Burnham won the local election in Manchester, making him eligible to challenge Starmer for the prime minister role.

He won 54% of the vote, with Reform on only 34% or thereabouts. Burnham won more votes than all other parties put together.

Starmer's poll ratings are so low that he would not even win a town library council seat. Starmer is a decent person, but it is clear he does not have enough political experience, and he is just not a dynamic person. He is going to stick with what he knows, as limited as this may be.

Wes Streeting would also have been a better option than Starmer. He could be a possible deputy prime minister.

Starmer needs to go in an orderly transition. I think the history books will be kinder to him than how he is currently judged.... but he needs to read the room and come to an arrangement to move on.

Burnham... hmm... I'm sceptical to say the least.

@Stav, what reservations exist for Burnham? He does appear to have more political experience than Starmer - at least as an administrator. Being Mayor of one of the main cities must surely rank as the most relevant experience. Although Boris Johnson made a strong counterargument to this.

Fro/m what I can make out Burnham is an extreme leftist spend money endlesly ending up .in higher taxatio/n and Government o/ntrol that in the end will bankrupt the UK.

Extreme socilaist policies drive h e uich ot chea[e taxation countries and infrastructure will leav the Uk in deperation ih th ruich fleeing from he countries.

Economic extreme finanial policies imnevitable ends up as being disastrous for countries, ,

America should also be able to remove a party leader like the UK does (without just the 25th amendment).

They could dump Trump, with Marco Rubio the obvious replacement.

The UK should have a supreme court like the US, but with Democratically elected judges. Also, not appointed for life.

Idiot

Your BS kn-ws no end. The Supreme Court in th e U<SA was establish ed to prevent it be itrned into a poli.tial forum to be u,sed ag ainst political opponents - hence the life-long appointments where judges

cannot be fired because they o/ppose political skull duggery

.

You want a system where people oppo/sing your oidiocy be ousted and that is not going to happen in the USA,

In he case of th e UK the h ave a system wh ere the King protects the people from political idiocy. He has a number of working royals wgho are parton ousands opf organizations often affected bym maladministration by political-based Governmnts

I will give you an example - te Netherkands is a Republic wth he Ki.ng as ots head, When anti-royal organizations tried to changethe situation - the question was wh o sh ould replae the ten Queen Julkiana and the people saw the Prime Ministers and ex-Prime Ministgers and they decidedthey do not want any of them, Tja s where the sytm collapsed and that si what helkp the epople of the country - miore th an whatn anym political Paty would ever do.

Piness Anne, the Wales family and the Duke and Duchess of Edinnurgh attemded near to a 1000 ,eetings and occurences to promote issues of benefit to the Communiities need and they useh e media to get Government to attend to issues affecting the ordinary peoiple.

You are indeed an idiot - you h ate Trump because he em,dia tells you to hate him without any proof whatsoieer, Yo/u in your postings do not really know what is in fac happeni.ng and then ymou come u,p with th ing s ymou dream about and openly su,pport the dictaotorships in the world like the Ayatollah regime and caimed things lke invasion of Iran by the USA that ever happened,

Idiotic at best . .
