The strongest military defensive alliance the world has ever seen is about to up the ante.
Stronger than ever, we will be ready to repel any Putin invasion.

Exercise Steadfast Defender 24 is a NATO military exercise involving extensive participation from the United Kingdom. Here are the key details:

  • Participating Personnel: The UK is sending around 20,000 service personnel from the Royal Navy, the British Army, and the Royal Air Force to participate in this exercise??.
  • NATO Allies Involvement: The exercise will see participation from 31 NATO allies and Sweden, operating across multiple countries. This deployment is significant as it coincides with the NATO Alliance’s 75th year??.
  • Military Assets Utilized: The UK will deploy its most up-to-date fighter jets and surveillance aircraft from the RAF, the most advanced warships and submarines from the Royal Navy, and a comprehensive range of Army capabilities, including logistics, armor, and special operations forces??.
  • Details of Forces: The Royal Navy will deploy eight warships and submarines, including a Queen Elizabeth Class aircraft carrier with F-35B Lightning jets. The British Army will contribute 16,000 troops equipped with tanks, artillery, helicopters, and parachutes. The Royal Air Force will utilize advanced aircraft like F35B Lightning attack aircraft and Poseidon P8 surveillance aircraft??.
  • Purpose and Context: The exercise is part of NATO’s preparedness to repel potential threats, including a hypothetical Russian invasion. The Defence Secretary of the UK, Grant Shapps, highlighted the need for the UK and its allies to deal with "irrational" powers and the increasing global threats, emphasizing the importance of such military exercises??.

Exercise Steadfast Defender 24 represents one of the largest NATO deployments since the Cold War and is a key component of the alliance's efforts to demonstrate readiness and collective defense capabilities.

All theater...but then again, I thought the threat of Putin invading Ukraine again was nonsense, but the fool actually did it...

Yes, some sabre rattling, my only fear is nuclear escalation.
We can take Putin's army with ease, but how will he react?

I "think" the intel that NATO has, is that Putin is pulling the strings of Iran.

Europe is better off pouring support into Ukraine and do as much damage to the Russian army as possible.

Last think Europe needs is Ukraine to fall then have them invade a NATO country.

Indeed, regardless of going's over on in the US congress, Europe needs to step up to plate and look after itself. Everything should be done to ensure Ukrainian victory. Right now the west strategy looks to be for Ukraine to avoid losing but not necessarily for Ukraine to win. That needs to change.

Same applies for America unless they decide to withdraw from NATO before that happens.

If American troops end up dying in Europe the Republicans will take the hit for their actions that they take today.

Amazes me they can not see that it is in America's best interest to stop Russia now but then they don't give a shit about the common man, more than happy to sacrifice the rednecks for their arrogance.

I agree, more heavy weaponry needs to be sent to Ukraine. The fear of nuclear war hangs over the situation, but conflict seems inevitable with Putin - so best to just let Ukraine finish the job with top-of-the-range NATO weapons - like the Storm Shadow which can attack from long range

Weapons ..................... that's all Zelenskey wants ASAP ....................... their air defense system is currently inadequate & stretched, too many Russian missiles & drones getting through damaging or destroying vital energy infrastructure.

I reckon the threat of nuclear war is primarily a Russian psi-op. They want to give the impression they are mad enough to do it in order to try scare away western countries from supporting Ukraine.

You willing to bet the fate of the planet on that?...what's happening in Ukraine ATM isn't the work of someone whith a conscience...he's a very dangerous man...and removing him might replace him with someone even more nuts....what a huge fcn mess.

"You willing to bet the fate of the planet on that?"

What would you do regarding the Russia / Ukraine conflict ...

Do you want Ukraine to concede defeat to Russia?

I also wanted peace in Ukraine - but unerstand why Putin was forced into going  into Ukraine.   I do think it s too late to go back. to the Minsk agreement that recognisze  the 2015 border of Ukraine.    But a comprise may be possilbe with Ukraine getting back some of the area unde Russian control - but that will have to be approved by a regferendum in the areas concerned.

A s to the other two componnts of he Minsk agreement - acceoted by the then President that a new constitution for Ukraine be compiled and approved by a referendum.

As to the issue of NATO - membership of Ukraine - that will not be allowed by Russia as long as the USA govern Ukraine through a proxy government.    .

DumbMike, you support Putin over the West. Didn't you say you were a Russian bride when you went to Russia for a holiday where you, met the love of your life - someone called Igor?

Well I'm flattered you think I hold the fate of the planet in my hands but its not down to me. I'd take that bet, yes your right that Putin has no conscience and is a very dangerous man, but I don't think he's suicidal.

It is a risk that someone worse replaces him and I think that's the primary fear behind Biden's hesitancy in supplying Ukraine with certain weapons systems. But on the other hand I don't think appeasing a dangerous man with no conscience is a good idea. All it will do is encourage him and others like him to do something like this again.

Its very easy to be critical without having solutions of your own.
