However, when countries start decreasing trade with America, the US stock market will decline. This will turn shareholders against Trump, and possibly the middle class, as mortgages and pensions are tied to the stock market.

If it is a total disaster, even the working class will blame Trump.

I say put 25% tariffs on any product or service from America.

Then, American products will become too expensive and make it pointless to buy from the US.

Major tariffs need to be put on Big Tech for short term gains.

1. The EU controlled Denmark Kingdom - which provide a subsidy of circa $1,6 million to Greenland Government and supposed to defend their colony and does nt really to do so effectively and applied EU rules making development of mining, farming and fishing a real nightmare; and
2. University level education is provided in Denmark and once students obtain degrees they remain in Europe and not return to Greenland so tghe story about wealth of Greenlands inhabitants is plain BS,

Investment of Americans in Greenland is minimal and for most things the Greenlanders needs and comes from teh USA and Canada, so a viable country Greenland will never be. The best it can ever be is a local authority style of Government where wealth creation benefitting the locals are minimal and .the people is depenfent of Government grants for survival. The rural Municipality where I reside have a population much higher than Geenland and an agriculture output 20 times higher than total agricultural output of Grenland.

Greenland wants independence from Denmark and not be under EU control - but that independence would not last a week unless protected by the USA. Maybe that's how Greenlanders like living? As I said on the other thread, not everyone wants to live in a shopping mall. I'd take a simple life of subsistence in a clean environment over a high paid job in a city any day, all day, all year. If someone wants to come to my rural area saying "we bring all this money but we're gonna mine and we're gonna build businesses to cover every open piece of ground" I'd tell them to fuck off too.

So, the EU gets 20% tariffs, and the UK gets 10%. China gets 34%.

However, it appears that Trump is going to make a further update around VAT/Income Tax

He wants American countries not to be charged VAT/income tax within foreign markets.

So, imported American products would be 20% cheaper than a local alternative, which charges 20% VAT. That is just ridiculous, and no country would accept this.

Most countries around the world have the equivalent of a VAT consumption tax. It is charged to local and international manufacturers.

It is interesting that Trump just focuses on products because America is weaker here.

No mention of Big Tech, who are manufacturers - but somehow classified as service.

Why not agree on a flat rate of tariffs for products and services for any country they trade with?

It is not clear what reciprocal tariffs are. Trump just makes up a number for each country.

The 34% on China is apparently to be added on top of the already existing 20% tariff, meaning its a 54% tariff on China.

I see Ukraine is getting hit with a 10% tariff but somehow Russia avoided getting hit with tariffs.

South Africa getting hit with 30%.

ROFL, I see Trump has put a 10% tariff on Heard and McDonald Islands both of which are uninhabited.

Trump ignores the sale of services, and Big Tech. A deficit surely has to consider both products and services. America actually does well on the global market considering they are better at services than products (assuming you consider digital products as services)

America makes up 15% of the global market. Every country should respond with counter tariffs that match those of Trump, and just American product too expensive than market rates.
