He gave His back to the smiters and His cheeks that plucked off His hair : He hid not His face from shame and spitting,

Surely He hath borne our griefs and carried our sorrows ; He was wounded for our transgressions ; He was bruised for our iniquities ; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him.

And with His stripes we are healed.

Yes, he paid the price. 

For a debt he did not owe

For sinners who had no means to pay their debt.

Isaiah was one of the great Prophets writing some 750 years BC.

Amazing that the one to be born of a Virgin was to be called Wonderful Councellor (Name for the Holy Spirit), Mighty God, everlasting Father and Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 53 is one of the most remarkable prophecies dealing as it does with the life, ministry, death and resurrection of Messiah. 

Psalm 22 is equally astonishing

It's incredible to realize there are those who have no inkling about these things. They are as yet DEAD IN THEIR TRESPASSES AND SINS just as we once were. 

So they scoff at things they know nothing about. They insist they see but are blind.
