The last of the 10 House Republicans who voted for Trump's second impeachment to face voters, Cheney now becomes the eighth who will not be returning to Congress next year. Her loss, though widely anticipated, represents a significant marker in the wider fight over the direction of the Republican Party. Once considered an up-and-comer, Cheney was booted from House GOP leadership last year over her unyielding opposition to the former President and trailed in polling back home this year as she helped lead the House select committee investigating the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol.

……..

Cheney showed her intense dislike of Trump in the second impeachment farce. Then she segued to the Washington 6th mess. She had to know it wasn’t an attempt to take over the country….rather a stupid mistake by the Donald that went far further than he intended.

There is no way a rabble like that could even concern the military who would have put the ‘insurrection’ down in minutes.

She knew that but still used it dishonestly…..good riddance.

Cheney will now have more time to focus on nailing Trump with the Jan 6th committee.
Once Trump is gone, she will probably get back into politics.

The riot was the culmination of the coup attempt that started months before the election.
Like the fake electors, forcing Mike Pence to award the election to Trump, and trying to force Republicans to find votes that did not exist for Trump.

Trump's final act was the rabid mob that caused a delay in the sworn-in certification process. Was Trump trying to do this, or is he just crazy?

SB

Lets face facts = the Democrats wanted to use the January 6 Hearings as an election strategy - but most voters are not interested, bar the idiots living off lies and  that includes brainwashed idiots  like you.   Fact is the impact of the hearings have no impact on the upcoming election despite a farce hearing without any real proof of incitement to riot being in evidence.

What started months before the election?   The only evident and real thing started months before the election were the riots in US cities funded and organized by the Democrats in an effort to create the impression that the country was ungovernable.   After the Republicans regained the majority in the house on 8 November 2022 the new House majority are going to investigate that and plenty of real evidence is in evidence to send some of the riot inciters - al Democrat leadership - to jail.

Y ou may also be surprised that 61% of the voters in the USA believe their was election  fraud in the 2020 election - but most doubt whether it was widespread enough to  overturn the final result.   The ebauty of the situation is that the night delivery of votes after midnight will not be tolerated next time around.   For the Republicans the situation is once bitten twice shy.

The FBI raid on Trump's home has had nasty consequences for the Democrats as is evident  from the Wyoming result.    In opinion polls the  Republican candidate endorsed by Trump would win by about  27%    She won with a  majority of  36%    .

People can convince themselves of anything, hard to say if Trump genuinely believed the election was rigged of if he was just lying. Either way his actions demonstrated how unfit a person he was to hold the office of Presidency.
In mind its clear that Trump sought to overturn the results of the election. He tried the legal route and had pretty much zero success, so he kept telling his supporters the election was rigged and made comments them to fight like hell. He probably didn't have a precise idea of what his supporters would do but maybe he hoped his supporters would start protesting on mass and the protests would be so large and disruptive that it would somehow allow him to stay on as President or buy him time to figure out of another way of staying in power. Whether his supporters protested peacefully or violently probably didn't factor into his thinking. I reckon the reason he was hesitant on January 6th is he was secretly hoping what was happening on capital hill would inspire similar events around the country. Of course its also possible he knew he lost and he couldn't stay on, but for his ego's sake, he couldn't admit that publicly all that followed was him just selling a face saving narrative to his supporters.
rather a stupid mistake by the Donald that went far further than he intended.
That's how far down the rabbit hole his supporters are. They just dismiss his actions as a stupid mistake. Can you imagine for one second what the very same people would be saying if a Democratic President pulled the same stunt.

Great news.

I for one think she is going to enter the 2024 Presidential race just to get at Trump.

The Demorats will finance and vote for her big time.

What a Traitor she has turned out to be.

Liz Cheney has a chance at winning the popular vote of the majority.

She would win independents and some Democrats. It the current climate her position is seen as centre-right.

Trump would do worse now if he ran for election than before 2020. The independents decide elections, and they are not going to vote for Trump. Trump's only chance would be somehow rigging the elector scheme.

Liz Cheney has  no chance….she has just become irrelevant. All she had was a family connection to the VPs office, negated by her turncoat actions.

So long old Paint.

She has zero chance of winning the Republican primaries -  opinion polls indicate she has a 2% support for such nomination   chance of being nominated.    She may become the Democratic  Party nominee - their leadership under Biden is chaotic and his party wants to replace him - for that there is one big zero - unless the most useless  Governor  of California - is chosen - please note he is an extreme leftist with ties to China and that tens of thousands of people  flee from that stat e on a monthly basis.   These people go to Republican Run States  or even to Mexico    So Cheyne may be a good answer to their problem.

The fact is that there are weekly opinion polls published in the USA - you get to the site by searching for it on google.   You like to believe in  things that are not real and then write it down as  factual.   So go and see what the situation is in the case of actual voters in the USA and base your statements not through brainwashed idiocy.

Nothing stops her from going as an Independent remember Ross Perrow well he was one reason George Bush was not given a second term.

All the Rinos and lefties could lend her enough support to deprive Trump a majority.

Spiteful and filled with hate all because her dad was labeled a "War Monger" by Trump.

Which is the truth because he made millions of dollars through companies manufacturing war equipment from arms, ammunition, tanks to aircrafts.

Does Haliburton for one ring a bell.
